This is a typical urban fantasy that I would have picked up in the early 2000s. Lots of male bravado, a loner FMC that is enmeshed in the supernatural world, and a crime/mystery to solve.

It followed the formula which I would expect. The twist at the end didn’t land well with me. I also didn’t care about the love triangle. One romance from when she was sixteen with a grown man who turned out to be VERY old and the other an Alpha that was married when he moved next door to “keep an eye” on her. Girl needs better prospects.

A fun start to the series. Some parts are a little dated (lgbtq themes particularly), but overall, I think it still works well as a book.

This book turned into something that I was not expecting. It was action-packed and had its tense moments but had a lot of world building and Supernatural politics that really built out the world mixed in with the real world. I liked the main character and her inner monologue and liked how the different supernatural groups had their own bylaws. I am liking it and can't wait to read other books in this series.

A fun listen. Like the coyote shifter angle.

In a world where people with magic are coming out of the woodwork, Mercy Thompson is a skinwalker. Living next door to the local werewolf pack she's tolerated by the community. She works as a mechanic and mostly keeps her head down. However her life is interrupted when a dead werewolf ends up on her door. She's an interesting character and knows her limits.

I enjoyed this book a lot and have enjoyed it each re-read. I really like the fast paced story and the characters.
