I am really enjoying this series! It's a fun combination of myth, fairytale, and legend rolled up into a magical adventure story.

I Wanted to like this book, but I couldn’t.

It had a lot of potential, specifically in the world building. I really liked the mesh of different mythologies and folklores and I wanted to learn more about how the author had combined and changed them.
I also thought the magic was pretty cool, and I wanted to learn more about how it worked and what the limits and specialties were.

But, all of the good things were completely eclipsed by the Horrible writing and characters.

The characters are So bland and one dimensional, especially the two MCs. They have no personality at all, no speaking voice, and there’s no glimpse to interesting inner thoughts. They have the development of side characters. There’s absolutely no reason to like them and no reason that they should be the Special Snowflakes that they are. They’re important just Because.

The writing was really bad, too. There was far too much explanation and far too little explanation at the same time. It would give wordy explanations about scenery and appearances and would explain simple things as if the reader was a complete idiot.
The descriptions were atrocious and so vague. I’m paraphrasing, but it went along the lines of “The sword cut right into So-and-So’s arm. It hurt.”
And No One’s giggle sounds like a purr ?

I wish it were good, but it’s not. Wouldn’t recommend.

This book was a thrilling nonstop ride! The fast-paced plot kept me on the edge of my seat, leaving little room for analysis. It completely captivated me from the very first page. Finishing it left me eager to dive straight into the next book in the series.

While one character's development might be a bit predictable, it likely serves a purpose in the larger narrative. Overall, this was an immersive and engaging read that left me wanting more.

So while waiting for my flight I read this book... It was quite intriguing and kept me entertained... My questions from book one more or less got answered, I love the fact that this is an ongoing story, more questions arise and some very answered. Besides this it's a good book...
