Don't Let in the Cold by Keely Parrack

Overall it was enjoyable, but I couldn’t help but feel there was just something missing.
I enjoyed the set up, Lottie and her new step-sister trying to bond after their parents have married only to find themselves in the middle of a terrible storm and strange people at their door.
Though it felt like it was going to be a fast pace read, somehow it was all very drawn out. It felt like they just kept finding problem after problem but no real solutions? It felt like the author had ideas of 10 different storylines that could’ve happened but then decided just to throw a little bit of all of them in it.
Even though the ending was somewhat… satisfying, it was overall a little lack luster and I was finding myself just wanting to finish the story to be done.
As i always say, if it sounds interesting to you I encourage you to try it because most of the story was good.
Thank you so much again for the chance to read this early.

This book gave me the chills. Being home alone when your house gets broken into is one of my biggest fears. This story had me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

I did hate a good time with this books, it was better than the reviews I read, I would recommend it if you want to read a fun mystery what is very exiting, I read this book while laying very cosy and that was the best vibes for reading this book, what was a minus point for me was that I thought it would take place in one setting in cabin but I think 30% in it was destroyed and they were outside. I think it would have been a 5 star read if it had stayed in once place because that is more creepy and scary. if you are a fan of no exit this is a great read

It was definitely enjoyable and interesting. The only thing that was a little unnatural was the romance between two of the main characters. They went from hate to love kind of abruptly. There was chemistry, but I feel like it could’ve been written better.

despite having every possible problem thrown at the characters (blizzard, fire, asthma, injuries, beARS, THE MAFIA????), i was bored through basically the entire book. also i hate to say anything disparaging about an audiobook narrator, but this one was really not it for me. every voice she did sounded cartoonish in a way that detracted from the experience

2 out of 5-- wouldn't recommend

Well, without spoiling much, here's my honest review.

The main thing that got on my nerves, was the fact that there were so many dumb decisions made at every turn. Its like the girls barely had a since of stranger danger or self-preservation.

On top of that, so much yet so little happened. Quite frankly, the one enjoyable part of this story, was Otis the dog. There were a lot of questions left unanswered, and frankly I don't like the ending.

The romance also felt a little forced. The relationship that formed, was one that felt weak and a little out of no where.

While they're put in very dangerous situations, I never really got the feeling that any of them were actually in danger of dying. Like I could tell there was plot armour on each of them

I nearly DNFd this book at multiple points, but the only thing that pushed me through finishing, was the fact that I paid money for it.
