Some parts very soooooooooo painfully dry but the rest was good.

The end was well put together and I thoroughly enjoyed the theory on ball lightning. If it wasn’t for how it wrapped up, the story would have really sat at 2.5/5 imo.

I loved "The Three-Body Problem," but "Ball Lightning" didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The characters and their development were lacking, and I wouldn’t consider it a true prequel. If you change one secondary character's name and adjust a paragraph, there’s no real connection to "The Three-Body Problem." Additionally, keep in mind that the book contains a lot of military content, which might not be to everyone’s taste. Don’t fall into the trap of expecting a direct link between the two.
