Wendell’s step mom is sending assassins to kill him. They manage to poison him and it’s Emily’s job to save him.

I liked the story overall, but not as much as the first book. Emily came off more arrogant in this book but towards the end she comes back to the character I loved in book one.

Fun fun fun. As always, love my babies Emily and Wendell, so glad
that we got to see his kingdom, in ireland

I did dislike Rose, he was so annoying and rude to Emily and he should have had more growth. I also wish Emily had some growth in her acceptance of who she is and not being a social creature, like let's move on
