Note: An ARC was provided by the author.

I've only read a few of Melanie Moreland's books so far, but if it's one thing that I've noticed, it's that there's this...something extra in each one, whether it be the characters or story or both. And by "extra", I absolutely mean "extraordinary" because I've loved the five titles that I have read. I know, I know. I've got a ways to go since I have yet to tackle Moreland's back list, but they're on my to-be-read list (which I have plans of finally tackling one book at a time next year!) because she's impressed me to the point that I need to know what the heck I've been missing all this time. Latest bit of evidence: Heart Strings, Moreland's latest standalone that totally did it's job tugging on MY heart strings.

Heart Strings is the story of twenty-six-year-old Charlotte Prescott, only daughter of Charles and Josephine and works as a manager at Prescott Inc. Each and every day, she strives to be the best at her job and make her parents proud--to carry on the legacy that was supposed to be her brother Joshua's. But while she may be great at what she does, she doesn't feel the connection to it that she wishes she did. She works under her father because it's her duty, not because it's her dream. One of the few things that sparks true peace and joy in her now is when she listens to the guy playing his guitar by the subway station. What she doesn't know is that while she's been listening to him and his music, Montgomery Logan has been paying attention and sees more than she thought possible. Now, all Logan wants is a true chance for them to explore their one-of-a-kind connection.

There's a lot about this book that I found myself falling in love. From the story itself to the storytelling that Melanie Moreland employs, Heart Strings had and held both my attention and my heart from start to finish. When Lottie and Logan have that first interaction, there's that spark but they don't exchange any words, save for Lottie's softly spoken words of thanks. Then they have that first conversation, and you realize that the kindled connection was quietly being stoked all along, with every glance and acknowledgment. Goodness, but how these two inspired the whole "le sigh" thing from me time and again. This has the makings of a modern classic in the romance genre, and if you're a fan of beautifully penned romances, then Heart Strings is a must-read. Five stars.

obsessed MMC (but this isn’t a dark story), then “you aren’t one of those girls who only eats salads?” and “I could tell you were a cool girl because you carry a book not an ereader and don’t carry a brand name bag” - insert eye roll.

DNF… holy instalove…. Surprised they weren’t married and pregnant by 25%. I’m ok with quick relationships if the two characters knew each other before, but it’s a red flag to be have the MMC introducing the FMC as his GF at the very beginning of the first date to his student. Hard pass.

Like the perfect symphony written in musical notes, the characters in this story could not have been written any better and the intertwining of their lives was yet another masterpiece written by Melanie Moreland. Lottie and Logan have an instant connection but one that is completely misunderstood, but through his music the best of each is brought to the forefront and made for a heart warming true love story. There is no fluff or pomp and circumstance within the chapters, but just honest emotions and a love story that needed to be told. The reader will come away from this book with love in their heart. 5 Stars are not enough!!

Charlotte, Lottie to her friends, works tirelessly at Prescott Inc., her fathers business. Even though she hates her job she does it out of obligation. Lottie feels like she has to be someone she’s not to make her parents happy. But what about her happiness?
Everyday Lottie rides the subway home so she can see him. Montgomery Logan plays his guitar everyday in the subway station. It is the one part of Lotties day that she enjoys, that she lives for. His music makes her feel, helps her unwind, and relaxes her.
When Logan first saw Lottie he knew he needed to help her. He saw the stress she carried and the unhappiness. When he started playing his guitar it was for her, and he came back everyday just to see her.
Their relationship and love is fast and unexpected. They are so sure of each other and the happiness they feel when they are together. Nothing can tear them apart, not even Lotties parents who don’t approve. But Logan is just what they all need to bring them back together and heal old wounds.
Such an amazing story! Quick easy read that will leave you wanting more.

Heart Strings is not the finest from Miss Moreland. This book is more subdue and focus more on sex. Like many romance readers, sex sceses are good but I need more in depth of the story.
After all this is from Miss Moreland.

Miss Moreland usually writes a story that full with moral messages. I can relate to Lottie. Her whole life is lonely, depressing and sad. But at least she still have a good job. Miss Moreland also not explain the attraction between Logan and Lottie.
It just told, Logan fell a strong attraction toward Lottie on the subway.

Anyway.... moving on
