Ive seen many reviews saying this book was too rushed, too little plot, and they didn't enjoy it. I thought it was adorable. This is a great read for in between long or in depth books, something to get you back on the path of reading without a hard commitment. It has a dash of spice, a hungry romance, difficult events, and just an overall wonderful lighthearted read. Great for a little book club.

It wasn't a terrible book, but there wasn't a ton of stuff happening and it felt like the main characters weren't that involved; it was primarily their friends solving all of their problems for them. Definitely dragged in places because there wasn't enough going on.

Also, for a book that was advertised to be quite kinky/steamy, there's like one sex scene that goes to completion (Bjs) and then a couple of other scenes that get to about halfway through and then fade to black so abruptly that I did wonder if I'd accidentally hit the skip button on my audiobook app. It felt like the author didn't know how to continue the scene so they just stopped writing it, it was bizarre. Also when one of the characters writes kinky erotica and keeps talking about how he's going to do "such terrible things" to his lover, you'd think the steamy scenes would be a bit less vanilla. IDK, it just felt like a bit of a tonal mismatch.

I didn't like the way it was written but I like the story itself I think. But I really did not like the way it was written....
