3.5 This was a fun read. It's perfect for the Christmas season. There are times the main characters seemed unlikable to me. However their actions were always explained later on in a way that changed my perspective.
I would recommend this romance to anyone who likes seasonal reads, grumpy x sunshine trope, age gaps, dual pov, small town romance.
I also recommend reading the authors note when you finish the book ❤️

What we have here is some Grumpy/Sunshine, Single Mom, Age Gap, Christmas-themed goodness. If you’ve ever seen the show and character, Bones, Henry reminded me of her in the best ways. Dry humor, introvert, observant, and awkwardly adorable. Paige is a spitfire and the way that Evie wormed her way into Henry’s heart was amazing.

Things I Loved:
-“Nice meeting you, neighbor. But just so you know, anything you need to borrow, I won’t have.”
-Nana and Poppa Dub
-Evie, everything about Evie. ♥️
-Home Improvement reference
-Cat
-Mr. Brown
-Pink stripe
-Rampant commercialism?
-Miss Lily
-Hill the Pill
-“It’s about to get aggressively jolly around here.”
-Sea monkeys
-No cap—or anytime Henry uses slang

Single mom Paige wants nothing more than to buy a house and provide a home for her daughter Evie. When one comes up for sale, she realizes now is her chance. But her potential neighbor Henry wants the neighborhood to remain quiet and peaceful. He actively tries to prevent Paige from moving in, but she manages to do so anyway. Needless to say, the two do not get off on the best foot. Things get worse when Paige decides to go way overboard with the Christmas decorations. And we learn that Henry is not a fan of Christmas. However, Henry, Paige, and Evie develop an interesting relationship/friendship. And before they know it, Henry and Paige are starting to deny feelings for each other.

In the beginning, it was kind of tough to like either of the main characters. Henry was a true Scrooge. More like a Grinch. But Evie and Paige won him over. And by the end of the story, they all had won me over. Zero spice in this book, but it was fine. Sometimes a nice clean romance is all you need. This probably had one of the cutest endings ever. Even though I had a bit of a rough start with this, I fell more and more in love with it the further I got into it. And I ended up really liking it.

IN. LOVE.

It’s been a while since I’ve been so in love with a book. At first I hated Henry, then I loved him, then I fell in love with him. In the day I took reading this (because I simply couldn’t put it down) I cried, I screamed, I laughed at the best mini sidekick ever. I’m simply blown away, the easiest 5 stars I’ve ever given a book!

I’m so ready for Christmas and this just made me even more excited. In Scrooge and the girls next door you get to meet Paige, a young single mother who just bought a fixer upper, right next door to a total scrooge(aka Henry). Sparks fly, literally and things get complicated to say the least.

I’m one of those people who loves Christmas romcoms, I would be a little embarrassed to admit how many Christmas movies I watch yearly. This felt like one of those movies, and I mean that in the best way possible. I could totally picture it, the house with all the lights. The to good to be true family Paige has, all the Christmas spirit. Love it!

Other then that the writing is too tier, it has a dual pov, grumpy x sunshine trope, can’t go wrong with that one. If you’re into age gaps and the single parent trope, which is really growing on me it also has those. Evie really made this book special, such a cute kid. Cat the cat is my new spirit animal. And there are so many funny moments and quotes.

I highly recommend this one to all the romcom lovers out there. And obviously a perfect fit for this time of year

I think this could have done with a bit more story. The last 10% is where things finally come together and part of that is an epilogue. I would have liked a little more apology between them both honestly. Paige had to know how badly she’d hurt Henry, and Henry had returned that favor. Ellie was precocious. Closed door romance.
