So cute!!!

I have officially found a favorite RomCom writer and it’s Cindy Steel! I love the banter, the non-cheesiness of the dialogue, and the internal angst, pining, and mortification of the narrators. I cannot wait to read more by the author who leaves me laughing out loud and swooning over her couples!

This author was new to me, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I wanted to like it; I really did. But it wasn’t for me.

Enemies to lovers is one of my favourite tropes. I’m not sure why, but that’s just how it is. The banter between Penny and Chase was often hilarious. And my favourite part involved the mice, Harold and Helga. I pretty much laughed out loud.

However…there was quite a lot of what I would personally consider “less than polite, borderline crude” language and innuendo that made me uncomfortable. Plus, the level of physical attraction/description and the “intimacy” of some scenes were too much for my comfort zone, despite still being considered clean. Again, that’s just my personal opinion.

I think I really really like this author. If this was a whole novel, I think it would have been five stars. As it stands, there wasn't enough time to let things develop fully even resulting in a bullet list of notes at the end of details explained. I wish the author had let it flesh out more. But that being said, this author is so great at writing characters, banter, and tension. Can't wait to read more from her.

cute holiday romance

Just when I had given up on holiday reads, this one grabbed my heart strings. A fun, enemies to lovers romp in the snow. Cheesy, i know, but it was cute. That sometimes what you think you hate the most is what you really want the most. It was a slow burn romance, with just enough tension to melt butter.

Good little romance comedy, good quick read with some good humor and really only 2 characters to follow along with.

This was such a fun novella! I love Chase and Penny, their banter is top notch. Cindy Steel is so good at what she does, the tension was palpable and the events so believable. I only wish this was longer!
