This is my first Nora Roberts and while interesting, the dialogue was terrible. It did not sound natural. It also sounded like Roberts was trying to use "young, hip" language without actually being young or knowing any slang. Very odd. But the plot made up for it, so I'll keep reading.

This book was very fun. It’s a light and easy read. I loved the cast of characters, especially the animals, and the creativity in creating the world within this book. I wanted Breen to have more of a backbone and not seem so weak. Maybe in the next book.

I liked the story and as always the world and the writing was magical. I liked the strong and relatable characters. I had hoped for a better ending as it felt like the story was cut off abruptly. I flew through the book quickly but felt that this book had too much flowery words and dialogues that the action was missing.

I don’t know how Nora Roberts manages to do it every time. This book sucked me right in and I’m still thinking about it. I can’t believe I have to wait almost a year for the next one!
