I was really expecting this book to be more eventful because of how the previous book ended but I think it may have been the dullest one yet. This was the first time that the Baudelaire children willingly followed Count Olaf in order to find more information on all of the terrible things they've experienced.

I was expecting Violet, Klaus and Sunny to uncover something huge, but all they found was another location. I know this is a series of 13 books so I didn't expect them to figure everything out, but at this point it feels more annoying than progressive. I get that what's happening to them is suppose to be unfortunate but who on Earth is this unlucky?

Again I have higher hopes for the next book because this book ended with more of a bang but right now I'm really struggling to get through these books.

I am curious to see what happens next to the Baudelaire orphans -- things just seem to go from bad to worse for them. Count Olaf showed the depths of his depravity with extreme animal cruelty in this book -- glad the lions were finally fed, somewhat sorry about who their meal was. I find the concept of an ambidextrous man being a feature in a freak show at a carnival a bit extreme, but it fits with the rest of this off-kilter world. Love to see the way baby Sunny is growing up.

The book starts with the frightening situation of the Baudelaire's hiding but it was refreshing because I hated it when it started with Mr POe telling them who their new guardian would be.
I almost died laughing when the crystal ball was introduced because let's be real who believe in that and I was not disappointed at all as it turns out it was just a diversion to the real plot.
As I kept reading I felt that the children were turning into a mini Olaf.
Freaks is a harsh word to use because they are gifted people, they are different and instead of complaining all book long it starts to become irritating to read.
The unsolved mysteries are: where the Snicket file is, or why someone else had Olaf’s tattoo, or what V.F.D. stands for, or why there’s a secret passageway that leads to our house of the Baudelaires, or if of their parent is alive?
A last surviving headquarters of V.F.D, I mean seriously no answer is given to previous questions but its okay to introduce a new one.
I've read 18 books from the series of pretty little liars and never got bored and never complained, you know why because the author provided me with the necessary answer with each book but here all we get is questions and more questions per book and it starting to make me feel that its time to give up because I'm fed up with this. I will try to end this series but not on a happy note.
The Valley of Four Drafts, I'm not even intrigued because I've lost every element of being surprised.
Reading chapter 13 was like thanking God this chapter was small.

These poor kids, still have a few to go, and feel like the Baudelaires have been through way too much.

“The story of the Baudelaires takes place in a very real world, where some people are laughed at just because they have something wrong with them, and where children can find themselves all alone in the world, struggling to understand the mystery that surrounds them.”

For some reason, I gave this one three stars the first time around.

?????

This is one of my faves in the series. Five stars. FIVE STARS.

Now I can finally finish watching the Netflix show. Which I love and adore. I loooove how it's expanded on the books. Just awesome.
