It's difficult to say how I feel about this book. The premise looked good, Greta's husband and daughter disappear on holiday and she has no idea what could've happened to them on that small island. I couldn't really warm to Greta at all.

SpoilerHowever, things did not appear to be as they seemed and I began to wonder if Greta was delusional, we hear snippets of her childhood and become aware that she had been attending a psychologist. I ended up feeling quite dizzy and had no idea what was going on and was more or less just trying to get the book finished. But then towards the end the plot takes another twist and the story takes us down a different path so I did enjoy the later part of the book.

It's not quite a 3, I would more give this book 2.5 out of 5.

It was creepy and twisted and suspenseful and a little confusing in the beginning, but if you get past that part it's actually quite good. Could have probably crushed it in a single day, but it was almost too much to take in all at once.

Very strange book. Some good twists but almost gave up to be honest. Glad I read it all as it just about made sense in the end

Short, easy read. Average read for me.

I understand the message of this book and I think it's very important and very common these days, but I was seeking some more action in this story.
In the beginning I found it very weird, it was confusing me, but then it made sense.
I didn't understand the side story of a girl and the boys group, it was missing something... Or it felt like it didn't gave me the answers that I needed.

Thank you.

Great read despite an irritating start

The first third is puzzling and frustrating. I nearly gave up on it but I'm glad I persevered, it improved markedly and ended up satisfyingly tense and gripping. Would definitely recommend.

An incoherent story that tries to redeem itself at the end.
