Cheeky/outright crude/brilliantly funny poems that retell classic fables, historical/biblical figures through the lens of a female character
standouts: little red cap, mrs. aesop, penelope

Concept > execution. Duffy disappointingly doesn't really have much to say considering the promise of the concept. There's no deeper themes beyond the obvious subversion of gender roles spiel. There's no deeper reflection of her own work, criticisms of the very concept, morally grey discussions, it all seems too black and white like being slapped in the face with "did you know sexism is a thing?"
