I liked the book very much, the plot was appealing but overall I think the story lacked personal story building, rather than how it constantly talks about the cave structures they live in, I wanted to know more about her shift into the Bastion, like what where her living quarters like, simple day to day things along with the story would have been great.

It’s an easy read and I think it’s good otherwise.

Great start

Great start to a new series. I am looking forward to reading more from this author. Would recommend to those looking for another modern vampire take.

I love fast-paced books, but this book was SO fast-paced, it felt almost too rushed. On the bright side, there was no time to get bored, there were things happening on every single page. But I think the fast pace (and how short the book is) also made it harder to get to know and love the characters IMO.

I love Kennon. Even more so than Reece tbh. His constant back and forth regarding his feelings for Abbi was honestly exhausting towards the end. 🥲 But I get that there’s something going on there that we’ll find about in the future books.

Still enjoyed the book, though, it was a fairly quick read, and I admit I’m intrigued to know what happens next. This vampire universe is different to the other vampire books I’ve read, and that’s creative.
