Read this book for 10th grade history and fell in love with the story. Truly wonderful tale for children to read and discuss with their parents.

5★: A TIMELESS CLASSIC FOR ALL AGES! Published nearly 53 years ago, I personally think this is one of Dr. Seuss’ best works (possibly tied with [b:Dr. Seuss's Sleep Book|7772|Dr. Seuss's Sleep Book|Dr. Seuss|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1344371380l/7772._SX50_.jpg|2069969].) AND it has one of the best quotes ever:
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
Perfectly sized at 72 pages, this book currently has a 4.34-star average by 334,444 reviewers.

I don't remember the first time I've ready this book, but I assume some adult read it to me when I was a little because I can't remember a time when I didn't have the messages and the pictures in my head.

2020 - I let kiddos pick which Seuss book we read this year and The Lorax was picked several times in the 18 class periods I read to over the week. Kids love it, and they are affected by it more than any other Dr. Seuss book I read. They walk away talking about it and they ask to check it out. I call that a success...and a classic.

Just watched a video of Danny DeVito reading this for Earth Day.
