I don't know why but I'm kind of obsessed with hockey romances right now. This friends to lovers YA romance was good but I felt like it was too short for the story told. I wanted more time getting to know Jackson and Malina's friendship before it turned into something else and wanted the angst and the will they/won't they to go on for longer. It felt a little rushed because the entire story needed to be told in a two-week time span. I liked seeing Pierce and Lia again and love the hockey focus but it needed a little bit more of a spark.

I would like to thank the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me access to an arc of this book! I requested it on a whim I was kind of just on a requesting spree and I liked the sound of this which is why I wanted it. This is a dual point of view book. Immediately when I started it I was drawn in by Malina and Luke, one thing that really got me and I was like confused is why does Malina and most people refer to him as Jackson? That was weird for me like especially someone as his best friend surely should be using his first name? I would have liked that, where she calls him Luke and then his hockey friends just refer to him as Jackson it would have gotten the statement across even better that they were close. It got across fine but that would have been good. I really liked how it started with both of them talking and teasing each other. You could also tell immediately how Jackson felt about Malina it was in his actions and how he treated her and spoke to her, you could tell he had grown feelings for her whilst she was away.

There is one massive positive for me with this book and that was although they were in high school they made the prospect of the future a major element in this. So as with some YAs they kind of side sweep college like it’s not important and we’ll deal when we deal, but with this, it wasn’t like that. Malina was constantly working towards her future for scholarships and trying to do well in school and trying to find the guts to tell people she wants to do her own thing. Jackson was focused on NFL until Malina and his mum tell him that he needs a backup plan but I really loved how based on the future it was it didn’t give these characters the bubble that usually happens.

The book also included a lot of sciencey stuff in and as someone who doesn’t know a thing about science and isn’t that good, it was quite easy to understand what Malina was trying to do and I really liked the fact that I could understand it and it didn’t just go over my head.

The awkwardness between these two characters when they kiss for the first time is brilliant! I think it did perfectly showing just how awkward it can be between people when that step is made between them. I really enjoyed this book and its characters.

*I RECIEVED A COPY OF THIS BOOK FROM NETGALLEY IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW*

2.5 stars.

This was a cute romance, perfect for a light summer read.

Unfortunately I felt it didn't have anything to help it stand out from the other books in the *best friends to lovers* trope.

Fletcher had me all smitten and fangirling with All Laced Up. I was uber excited about book two and I had high expectations, again. And again, they were more than met.
I love besties to lover stories. Tied Up in You, is cute and swoony. It's the perfect cute & fluffy.

Just like in the previous installment Fletcher digs deeper than expected. Which is what makes this more than just a fluffy read. It has some depth to the cute.

The characters are interesting and unique. I loved revisiting the Hockey boys and co. Malina and Jackson are my favorite! I mean I know I said Pierce was awesome sauce.. I still like him. However Jackson, is just better.. lol. Seriously: The friendship between Malina and Jackson is dynamic and feel very realistic. The changes between them had my all fluttery. I could feel their butterflies, I got their fears and confusions. It's beautifully written. Malina's heritage made her even more interesting. Love her relationship with her grandmother, it reminded me of how special my grandparents were to me.
I love that both Malina and Jackson have high aspirations. Their dreams are really different and so are their interests, I adore that they both value eachothers passions.

I was worried that there was going to be a love triangle. Because, well there could have been. But there wasn't. Just like with the rest of the dramas, there has to be some drama it is a romance, it doesn't drag on. Malina and Jackson do talk to each other, they do trust each other and no matter how confused they are or how angry they sort it somehow out. Which is one of the things I really loved about the story line. They have problems, they deal. Even if it isn't all smooth or perfect it feels like real life. Just with cute hockey boys and lots of swoon.

A must read if you ask me.

Anytime I pick up a book by Erin Fletcher, I know I'm in for a brilliant read. TIED UP IN YOU continues that trend with a friends-to-lovers story about hockey star Jackson and STEM-enthusiast Malina. Their struggles and dramas felt so very real and raw, and I loved how cute these two were together, even before they moved from "friends" to "more than". And the secondary characters were just awesome -- from Malina's wonderful grandmother Tutu to her hilarious best friend Izzy, and of course Lia and Pierce (from ALL LACED UP) who made a few appearances that made me want to go back and re-read their story all over again. I basically inhaled TIED UP IN YOU, and it's definitely one I will recommend to anyone looking for a book that's guaranteed to make their heart happy.
