Scott and Kip are just so cute and perfect for each other!

Worst in the series for sure. The two main characters were unremarkable, and the insta-love trope was really poorly done. I did enjoy the latter part of the book more, with Kip struggling with not being public.

Great start to a series! I enjoyed this book a lot. MM, sports, sexy times and romance, what’s not to love?!? Looking forward to staring book two, which I hear is off the charts good!

A sweet story about a successful hockey player and a man trying to understand what path he wants to follow.
It made me smile reading about Scott's attempts to flirt or Kip's embarrassment.
All the characters that we meet are interesting, and I really enjoyed how the author worked with Scott's best friends and his coach's reactions.

3.5 stars. I read book 2 and 3 first. I was kinda avoiding this cause it sounded more...vanilla than its successors. Indeed it was. While I still see Reid's humor and heart in this book it definitely pales in comparison to Heated Rivalry. But my spoiled self was still able to enjoy this book and the modern world of hockey Reid gives us.

i wasn't very invested in scott and kip's story. it felt rushed in a way that seemed unrealistic. almost love at first sight. there were many instances where the dialogue was awkward and unnatural. i read heated rivalry and the long game before this one, and it was hard not to compare scott and kip to shane and ilya. shane and ilya's relationship felt much more dimensionalized and grounded in reality than the one between these two. shane and ilya felt so real to me that after them, this book was mostly disappointing.

Spoileralso, kip really irritated me with his stubbornness about money. if i had a wildly rich boyfriend, i'd let him spend whatever he wanted on me. don't be ungrateful. and he was so selfish and not at all understanding of scott's situation, which pissed me off as well. ALSO, the smut was nowhere near heated rivalry/the long game's level.

The first half was really slow but it got better.
