This series is written for children. As an adult reader, I found them difficult to read for a variety of reasons mainly that I am a more sophisticated reader than a child. I love the concept, I love a lot of the details but this will not be the next Hunger Games or Harry Potter, beloved by adults and kids alike. And that's fine. I suspect that if I were 10 years old, I would love these and be enthralled by them. I am putting this book and [b:Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children 1|9460487|Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children, #1)|Ransom Riggs|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1391229642s/9460487.jpg|14345371] on the shelf where I keep books to give my son when he grows up. I hope he will like them and if he does, I will buy him books 3,4,5,6,7....however long the series goes. But as an adult I don't feel the need to read them.

Oh this book left me wanting more. I was so upset that I have to wait until the end of September for the next one

To be honest, I preferred the first book over this one. The one thing that REALLY saved it was the ending. The last 50 pages were really interesting and super awesome, I got goosebumps as I read the last few lines.
Everything prior to that was....almost pointless I would say (without trying to be disrespectful). They could have literally cut out everything from pages 100-300 and I wouldn't have been confused as to what was going on. They were on a journey to find something, and along the way they just stumbled upon different people while being chased by others, which is essentially the premise for Hollow City.

The ONE thing that might have bothered me the most, is how many peculiar people they kept running into. I mean howww?? Every single time the group would run into anyone (or another group of people), they would be peculiars. Every. Single. Time.
I just thought it was difficult to find them, so maybe I just kind of shook my head at how often they popped up. It's something small and I'm sure no one else noticed this while reading, but I'm too nit-picky not to notice :P it would have been nice to have one un-peculiar person join them for a bit or try to help in some way.

Despite being overly picky, I am reading the last book. Ransom is writing a 4th for October 2018 but I don't think I'll read it. I feel the third is the possible technical ending, so I might be okay to finish it there. If someday it hits me that I really want to read the 4th, then I might consider it in the future. Here is to hoping I like the third one a lot :D

This book was very interesting. It wasn't at all what I expected to happen, which I found to be even more entertaining. Additionally, it was nice to see how Jacob and the other characters developed more throughout the book with their new found independence. I don't know if I will read the third one. At least not right now. I listened to the audio version of this book and the narrator was AMAZING!

Karen Drake picks up right where the first novel left off. I loved it, and am looking forward to the third.

This book is the 2nd in the Peculiar Children Series. I liked that the characters were the same and they expanded by adding new interesting characters, but I felt like it was a long book to seemingly only take the course of 3 days. I enjoy the overall story, but felt like this one did drag on in some places.

I will say the books have kept me engaged to want to know what is going to happen to the characters, so it definitely has me wanting to read the next one.
