Started off super pretentious and I didn’t get much further than the intro before setting it down for a couple weeks. But when I decided to just read the rest, it actually had a lot of good content! It’s really worth the read, you just have to get past her personality, lol.

Lai gan dažas ir foršas un vērā ņemamas metodes, ko ieviest savā ikdienā, tomēr lielākoties man ir ļoti liels skepticisms pret iespējām ieviest šeit aprakstīto pašreizējā situācijā. apsveru iespēju palasīt blogus/pieredzes no Latvijā dzīvojošiem cilvēkiem

Enjoyed reading more of a background to the zero waste story. Though I definately do not believe it is doable to implement all of her suggestions in your life, either to time or availibility of resources, I do think that the general story will resonate with a lot of people. I would recommend to read the ebook so that it's easier to consult the book later on, as the register in the book itself is not extensive or even faulty at times.

It takes a woman of guts and spunk to do what Bea did, and she paved the way for many of us. I find her book very inspiring and useful, and will keep it in house as a repository of knowledge on how to zero waste parts of our lives. I have the paper version but would love an e-version, because it is easier to leave open when trying a recipe or duplicating a list. Haven't found an European version yet though. Although the paper version also reminds me to try and zero waste more aspects of our daily life.

Thank you Bea for the inspiration and for making such an effort to provide a solution to almost all parts of daily life. Of course, each of us live in another place with other means and other stores, so we all must find our own way, but your book is a superb starting point. Wonderfully done!

Being active in the zero waste community on social media and in local groups, I didn't think it would be necessary to read an actual "book" about it. But I LOVED reading this. Bea Johnson reaffirmed all of the reasons WHY living a simple life and reducing waste is a worthwhile venture. She is careful to frame her decisions and instructions within the parameters of her life, understanding that what works for her may not work for everyone. Each chapter has a specific focus and follows the same structure: the why and then the how. I appreciated this approach because it simplified everything and gave me the tools to evaluate my surroundings, habits, and choices. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in minimalism, decluttering, zero waste, or just simple living.

If I were to summarize my experience reading this book in 2 words it would be boring and entitled.

This author is very posh and pristine, which doesn't come off well. It makes the author seem very uppity and entitled, leaving you lacking any connection. If you are a stay at home mom who is married to a rich husband, then you can relate to this author. But if you aren't, then this book just rubs you the wrong way.

I listened to the audiobook and her writing comes off in the same way when its being read. The audiobook voice is so bland and monotone that I could only listen to about 20 minutes before getting so bored that I had to stop. Honestly I don't recommend this book. Check out a different one like the zero waste man or 101 ways to go zero waste.

I find it funny that most of these books are written by well off people in large cities. As others have commented, it's easy to make these changes when you live in a city with resources.

I learned the myriad uses for white vinegar and have started implementing them from the dishwasher to laundry to using as a cleaning solution. I don't expect my family will achieve Zero waste but this book gives easy ways to adopt methods for trying to lesson one's impact on the planet.
