bleak and existential but also very beautiful. the prose is so completely immersive and compelling and allows you to be  satisfied with a really unsatisfying story. 

i absolutely love the arc of the main character. from her immaturity and wonder to determination and then eventually peaceful resignation. leaves you with a lot to think about womanhood and what constitutes humanity. it’s also so eerie how entirely lonely this novel feels and how much time is spent looking for answers and human connections that never come.

This book will be one that sticks with me, but it’s a nightmare. Gives me the same vibes as a long Twilight Zone episode. Ultimately asking so many existential questions.
