This one dealt with more dark and triggering content than the previous books. A nice, enjoyable story although not your typical love story. Happy ending overall but still a lot of sadness In this one.

This book makes it very obvious that Francesca wants children, and I find it to be her main drive to get back to the marriage market. Please keep this in mind if you do so decide to read this book.

Francesca and Michael did get their two little kiddos in the end, and I'm incredibly happy for them.

Thia is probably the best Bridgerton I have read so far. It had consistent characterisation and managed to convey the grief and distress the main characters feel quite well. The sex scenes also were more varied than in the previous books. Still i would say the romance was the weakest part and Michael's behaviour at times upsetting. Also Julia Quinn sets up that Francesca wants a baby as her primary motivation and then doesn't even think to tell the reader if she ever gets one until the later-added second epilogue.
Colin Bridgerton is briefly in this book and bizarrely perceptive compared to Romancing Mr Bridgerton.
