Kinda felt like I waited the whole book for the story to start, then it all happened in a 25 page rush at the end.

Fury
by Rachel Vincent
Menagerie #3
Fantasy Dark Urban Paranormal
Hoopla Audio
18+
Over nine months pregnant, Delilah and the few cryptids who had run with her are hiding in a cabin, but they are still trying to find the rest of their group after their escape from The Savage Spectacle. Those who could pass as human go into town for news and supplies. But with each passing trip, the news becomes more concerning as humans die, then the similarity of the Reaping begins to show, as does Delilah's connection to it.
The third and final book of the series is a mix between the past and what happened to Rebecca Essig during the Reaping, and the present with Delilah and her friends as it appears the Reaping has begun again, but this time Delilah and her group are accused of the murders.
Violence and the disturbing 'what ifs' are only suitable for 'not too sensitive' readers over eighteen, but it is a great story/series.

I had to let this one steep. I'm not a fan of those types of endings (trying very hard not to spoil anything), but I didn't want that to sway how I felt about the book as a whole so I put off writing a review, but over a week later and I still am left wanting with the final book in this series. I love the first 2 books but this last one just wasn't for me.

I have complicated feelings about this - very complicated. The biggest thing is that once again, There are plenty of ways that didn't have to go down - plenty. There were many other flaws, unfortunately. So the first book is the strongest, in my view, and the other two didn't deliver on that great set-up.

I really wanted a happy ending but this story was violent from the beginning.
For me, it was a fitting ending even though it wasn’t what I wanted.
It was a story about prejudice and persecution and how quickly all the “bad” qualities can be attributed to anyone different.

The pacing of this one was too inconsistent for me to rate it higher. I still read it incredibly quickly, same as the first two books in the series, but the first 80% was a lot of meandering nonthingness really. And then BAM everything happened in about two chapters at the end.
Most of the beginning and middle felt like Delilah & Gallagher having the same conversation over & over about what happened & what it means that they're having a baby together.

Graphic: Child death, Confinement, Death, Gore, Gun violence, Violence, Forced institutionalization, Mass/school shootings, Murder, Pregnancy, and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Slavery and Car accident
Minor: Suicide

I need to know what happened to everyone "AFTER" the only reason it did not receive 5 stars.

Not the ending I was hoping for, but a good ending anyway. (Except )

I really wish that there hadn't been a Gallagher-Delilah romance. Why does every book need romance, man?writingwwolves's review

I was hoping so badly that there would be one more book in this series but the ending of Fury made it very clear that this is the end. And I am heartbroken. This whole series has been magnificent, I just wish the last book had been just a little bit longer, & has made the last two months of 2019 a little more bearable. Rachel Vincent’s writing is brilliant & the world-building in this series was both very realistic & incredibly imaginative. The Menagerie books are up there with my favourite series & there’s no doubt in my mind that I’ll be reading more of Rachel’s work.
