A captivating conclusion that gave me all the feels.
I'm not usually a fan of POV swaps but the transitions were seamless. The writing felt effortless and the story was so moving I had a difficult time ever putting the book down. The character development behind Delilah and Rebecca was absolute magic. Rachel Vincent put us on an absolute roller coaster ride with these two. I laughed. I cried. I haven't been so emotionally moved by a book in ages. Vincent far exceeded any expectations I could have had. Fans of YA fantasy won't be able to get enough of Fury!

I absolutely devoured this book. It was soul satisfying and heart wrenching.

I was glad that some of my questions from the first book were answered (as I had been afraid they would not be). I would have liked to know more about *after* but I suppose I will survive.

I have really enjoyed this series. This book was no exception. Rachel is one of my favorite authors so at this point I think I would go any direction she wants to go. I enjoy her books! At first with this book, I was not sure why were where being told about Rebecca Essig. But as you read more Rachel let use all in on the why, how and a fantastic ending I didn't see coming. I cried a few times with this book. But I think it is also my favorite of the series. In this book, we still get together with all the great characters and a few new ones. This series is worth the read!

Excellent story, but there is one question left unanswered...what are the surrogates and where did they come from?!

My review and an extended sample of the audiobook are posted at Hotlistens.com.

I can’t believe this series is over. I don’t want it to be. I want more time with these characters and this world. This series has been dark since it started with Menagerie and only got darker in Spectacle. So, going into this book, you know things are going to continue to be dark.

The biggest difference between this book and the previous two books, is that this one follows two timelines. We still follow Delilah and the family she has made around her with the other cryptids (people who aren’t human. Shifters, sirens, minotaurs, oracles and more. Some can pass as human and others can’t). But we also follow another family, the Essigs, that we haven’t met before. This timeline starts off in 1986, before The Reaping and follows into the years that follow.

This series has followed cryptids and how they’ve been horribly treated by humans (humans continue to fear what they don’t understand and when humans fear, they can be incredibly cruel). Humans do have reasons to fear some of these creatures. The Reaping is an event that took place in the past (like 1980s), where changeling children (fey children swapped with human children, raised by human families not knowing they were fey), went through and made the parents of the children kill all of their other kids. It was a very scary time. However, all cryptids were forced to pay for what the fey children did.

I love how this story gives us a glimpse into what life was like around the time of The Reaping. It also wraps up the story of Delilah. This has been a very dark story from the beginning and it is a very dark story in the end. I do think it wraps up the overarching series arc really well, though, I’m not exactly happy with the ending. I would’ve liked see things end differently, personally. There are a few things I still want to know. We don’t get much detail in how things play out for cryptids after the final big event or even the group that we’ve been following since book one.

If you’re looking for a dark fantasy series, I highly recommend this one, though it is not for the faint of heart. I want to say more, but at the same time, I don’t want to spoil anything.

Narration
Gabra Zackman narrates this entire series. She does a fabulous job of it. There are a wide variety of characters and age groups in the series. She does a great job selecting each voice to fit the wide variety of characters very well. Male and female characters, alike, have a voice that fits them perfectly. Her pace and tone also reflect each scene and character’s emotions.

**I like to thank the publisher for providing me with a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Fury is book 3 in the Menagerie series. This is the final book in the series and I was eager to see how it all wrapped up. If you're not familiar with the series or aren't caught up with the 2 previous books know that I enjoyed it but did have a few issues with some things in this installment. The series overall was a great read for me and I'd recommend it. That being said stop reading here if you're not caught up.

So this being the last book in the series we now have Delilah Marlow, our leading lady and the group that escaped with her hiding out. Everyone is looking for her and the search seems to be getting tighter and tighter as the days progress. Delilah is quite noticeable with her being pregnant so everyone is on edge with how things are going to play out. The goal is to rescue 2 of their missing members that got captured while not getting caught themselves. This book is a bit different from the prior two, we're changing time lines every now and then to show what happened in 1986 during The Reaping. It ties into their current day situation in a way I didn't expect. We also got some details on our leading lady that always had me curious.

Fury is a nice wrap up to a series I enjoyed. I had a few issues while reading but nothing I couldn't get past. There is no holds barred this time around since a few characters wind up dead. The ending wasn't my favorite to say the least but I can see why it ended that way but it made me a bit grumbly. I'm glad there was an epilogue since that had me happy. All in all, this series is dark but such a good read.

The pace was a little slower than the other two books. It didn't have the same tension and suspense. But still a great read.

I received an ARC of ‘Fury’ in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed the first 2 books of the Menagerie series. They were dark & exposed the underbelly that exists in humanity. Heck, half the appeal was reading about the horrendous things the characters had to endure whilst in captivity. I’m not sure what that says about me as a person but whatevs.

‘Fury’ was more chill than the first two books. Delilah and her band of merry cryptids are on the run, laying low, but still trying to liberate some of their captured friends. I didn’t enjoy this installment as much as the previous ones because the things that hooked me weren’t really portrayed in ‘Fury’. The stage changed. Instead of cages, dark deeds, and a little depravity..we got a cabin in the woods & motherhood. Soooo like I said, a very different setting ha.

I also feel like the end was wrapped up WAY TOO FAST!!! It went from declarations of feelings to the endgame in about 30 pages. I was shook. I wish that the feelings part had just been skipped all together. I think maybe the author did that to get a bigger reaction from the reader later on. Everything happened so fast though that I was honestly just left thinking, ‘Seriously?’. I also think that a lot of questions or storylines didn’t get answered/tied up. A sacrifice was made, but what was the outcome from society later on? Did public opinion change? Are cryptids still hunted?

The world may never know, because it wasn’t f’in mentioned in depth.

‘Fury’ was an ok read for me. I enjoyed the first 2 books more. I wish Vincent hadn’t rushed the ending.

Liked the book but thought the ending was unnecessary and a let down. And I'm usually the person who likes those kind of endings. Just didn't think it was necessary in this situation.
