I loved this book so much! This book radiated comfort vibes. It's a romcom that also tackles very serious topics. I think it was balanced out well. I loved Wes and Britta so much. Their dynamic is so cute. The banter between the two of them was so nice. The slow burn between them was everything. It's a friends to lovers/forced proximity/workplace romance. I didn't even realize this book was friends to lovers until I was almost done lol. It wasn't boring at all. The overall plot of the story was really good too. I loved seeing other characters from previous books. I also loved how every single character's role had significance. In my opinion there weren't really any "side characters" because each character added and contributed to the plot. The literal only complaint I have is that I own the physical book and the font size was a bit too small lol. Overall I loved this book so much. This is can definitely fall into the category of comfort books. I don't know how to describe it but it felt like a comfort read. I highly recommend.

This was a beautiful romance novel with excellent fat representation. As a fellow fat person, I loved Britta's realistic relationship with her body, how some days she felt good about herself and other days she focused on her body's 'flaws.' As someone trying to develop a healthier relationship to fitness and food, I also enjoyed how Britta's confidence and her views on fitness changed as the story progressed. And I loved that Britta actually referred to herself as FAT! Fat is not a bad word and I love that this book didn't make it seem like she had to rely on euphemisms to describe her body. I really think there should be more books like this that gives fat characters a chance to explore their relationships with their bodies, how they eat and exercise.

And Britta and Wes' relationship was so beautiful. Wes was attracted to Britta and didn't try to change her. He was always so ready to defend her, even when she wasn't around.

The side characters were also great. Some of the side characters in Wes' POVs blended together a bit for me. I really can't tell his gym buddies apart.

As much as I loved this book, the culprit behind the third-act break/conflict was glaringly obvious. Thankfully the mystery didn't last too long.

This is the type of romance novel that I love! I checked out the audiobook from my library, but I may splurge and buy a physical copy to add to my personal library!

Okay I read this with high expectations and was slightly disappointed 😞 I really liked it up until this "fight" between the two mc's bc Wes made a shitty decision that was addressed but not met with any reparations. I do see how it happens but I don't like how it went and how Wes turned out to be. I still love him though. Not enough smut for my taste. Also felt kinda slow.

I liked this book a lot I just got really bored of how much page time was dedicated to talking about the benefits of exercise. Like yeah totally it's super important but my god I'm reading a romance not a self help book I couldn't give less of a shit how good running feels.

Anyways the characters were fun, the romance was sweet, the friendships that unexpectedly developed were adorable, the fat representation and discussion around healthy exercise that doesn't focus on weight loss and diet was super cool.

Overall decent.

There are so many things to love about this book, even though the plot balances on one of my *least* favorite tropes: lying. Wes and Britta don’t miss a single opportunity to not come clean about their real identities for most of the story. Gang. This bothers me. It makes me so anxious for the inevitable conflict when the couple finds out the lie and it laces every interaction with an uncomfortable power imbalance that makes it so hard for me to swoon as hard as I want to. I needed about 20% less lying and 20% more banging, but here we are.

That said, I loved Britta. And Wes! And Britta’s friends! The wedding scene in this book is super swoony, and following Britta fall in love with exercise and herself was really great. Britt’s is supremely likable and relatable. Love love love her. Can we have more heroines like this please? Can we have more heroines who enjoy exercise at all sizes too? There is a trope where FMCs just don’t like working out and I’m here for a lazy day, but there are so many benefits to exercise beyond what you look like and I want more of that represented.

Denise Williams can write a toxic ex!!!! Wow. Kelsey?! 😤 This is after putting one of the worst fictional men into the universe in How to Fail at Flirting: Davis. This book is teeming with superbly unlikeable jerks. We have Ben, the toxic hipster, Mason the douche-y marketer (who totally redeems himself!), and Wes’s mom, who more than anything is sad, but woof, also brutally difficult to deal with (great redemption arc here, too!)

While this book is categorized as romance, personally that was the secondary theme because the fitness and personal discovery journey we follow Britta on was the strongest theme. The vulnerability and depth of Britta's character were so amazing to read and I related to some of the struggles she talked about. Wes was a true cinnamon roll of a man and I loved his support of Britta. There were some challenging topics in this book but Denise Williams did a really thoughtful job of addressing them which I greatly appreciated. Add in some sweet & spicy moments and it was such an enjoyable read. Both Britta and Wes hold back on things about their lives which was understandable in some ways but in others, it wasn't quite as believable that they wouldn't have figured stuff out and there were some slow parts that made it a solid 4 read for me. Would still absolutely recommend it!

I was SO happy that Wes showed up to her race but didn't insert himself into it and reminded her that she was fully capable of finishing herself. That felt like a really important moment.
