Cute story!

Goldilocks and the Grumpy Bear by Kacie West @kaciewestromance. This is a new to me author. Declan is a grumpy baseball player. Natalie is all sunny & happy. There was a mixup with the air bnb. Declan’s ex keeps calling her son multiple times a day & she bad mouths Declan constantly. Natalie tells Declan that he needs to set boundaries with her. He tells her to stay out of it as she doesn’t know his situation. They both apologize the next day. They talk & agreed to the remaining time to be together. Natalie leaves early as her daughter is injured. Declan follows her to NY to tell her he want’s her in his life permanently. She agrees & it’s happily ever after.

Like I could scroll past a book called Goldilocks and the Grumpy Bear and not immediately read it.

This is a sweet little festive novella that you will devour in one reading which has lots of great tropes - forced proximity, single dad, single mum, professional baseball player, cute kids, grumpy X sunshine.

Single mum Natalie is spending Christmas alone in a cabin since her daughter is spending Christmas with her dad. Until Declan and his six year old turn up at their cabin to find that his brother has rented out the cabin to Natalie by mistake.

Grumpy Declan is less than thrilled when a snow storm means that Natalie can't leave and they are forced to spend the holidays together.

There is so much cuteness in this book - snowball fights and snowman building, decorating trees, making cookies….it's a feast for your festive loving heart.

It's well worth a little read if you have a couple of free hours and want to feel all the sweet Christmas vibes.

I honestly loved Declan & Natalie’s story. Talk about grump!!! Ha Kacie wasn’t playing with his character.

I have no words. My two favorite author and combined, I can say this book was disappointed. The writing was amazing. co-writers can be tricky however this one was done well.

I love a good Sunshine- grumpy trope and this one was one of my favorite.

Declan was definitely a grump one that I didn't think I needed. He has very few happiness in his life and hasn't been happy in awhile until maybe Natalie came knocking him off his feet.

Natalie was on her way to a quiet week away after her daughter is away with her dad until the house she thought she booked turned out to booked by someone else.

As reading it I love it. Natalie had me to the very end. I absolutely love it. This was the perfect book that got me into the winter Christmas feel. This book had the perfect combination of the laughter, the love and the steamy. I am grateful for this book and cant wait to read more books by AJ Ranney & Jenni Bara soon.

So if you like:

- Rom Com
- Single Parents
- Grumpy Sunshine Trope
- Sport Romance

Then this is the book for you.

ARC Book Review
Goldilocks and The Grumpy Bear
A Novella Written By Kacie West
Fiction - Holiday RomCom
Published 2022
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This novella would be a perfect Hallmark holiday movie.

- two main characters who are single parents
- he is a grumpy star baseball player
- she is a sunshiny high school history teacher
- Airbnb reservation mix-up
- snowed in
- modern take on a fairy tale
- funny child
- annoying ex-wife

All Natalie is looking for is some quiet time alone in an Airbnb in the Adirondacks while her four year old daughter spends Christmas with her dad.

Declan is hoping for quality time alone with his six year old son, Chris, during Christmas.

What they weren’t counting on was both reserving the same cabin for the same week. A snowstorm prevents Natalie from leaving and going to a hotel. What happens when grumpy and sunshine spend a few days together and sparks start to fly?

“I need you in my life because somehow, without even trying, you make every day fun and exciting.”
