Court is in session with Chantel Fernado's newest book, Breaching The Contract. As always with her books the sexual tension is high and when they give in, its explosive. Tristian and Kat will have some obstacles to get through, but together they will be able to lean on each other, that is if they will allow themselves to.

Kat is excited to start her first job out of law school and can't wait to dig her heels in. She has been hired as an associate at Bentley and Channing who are know as the top criminal lawyers in the country. While she discovers that working with Bentley has been great, she has yet to meet Channing but has heard that he is difficult to work with. When she goes on her break she sees a man who drops his wallet, and when she tries to give it back to him, he ignores her. Thinking about just walking away she tries one more time and when he turns around she notices how handsome he is and has no idea she has just met her other boss.

Tristian's day is not going well and when he finds out he almost lost his wallet, he knows he needs to apologize to the woman who found it for him after how rude he was. And when she says she will take a rain check he can't help but notice how attractive she is. But when he goes back to work and finds out she is the new associate that was hired, he immediately gives her the cold shoulder.

After weeks of ignoring each other, they are forced to work with one another when Jaxon has a personal emergency. At first Tristian's behavior to Kat is horrible, he makes her do tasks that she shouldn't be doing and even has her pick up his kids. But Kat doesn't cave, she does what she needs to and still proves to Tristian that she knows what she is doing. And soon Kat has not only made a place for herself at the firm but in his family also.

But when they are faced with some horrible news, will Tristian push her away? Or will they figure it out together?

📚  STORYLINE 🌶️    😘

A short 2 1/2 hour listen. The story was sweet, albeit too short. Romance was evident, but the story was just too quick to be fully invested. A lovely written ear bud listen. Will certainly head to the next book in the series.

Very quick, light hearted read. Quite a bit different from other works I’ve read by the author, but I very much enjoyed it and look forward to reading about more of the characters in this universe.

I think if I didn’t know there weren’t other books, that this wasn’t a series, I’d have rated it lower since it introduces a lot of characters with clear personalities but doesn’t then do much with them. But knowing there are other titles to follow, I figure it’s set up for those.

Way shorter than my previous experiences with this author but cute, sweet, hot and romantic. Would have loved it to be another 30% again longer but overall I think I'll like this series.

**I received a copy of Breaching the Contract from the publisher and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review**

Breaching the Contract is the start of a new series by Chantal Fernando and having read her Wind Dragon's series I decided to give this a try. But was I pleasantly surprised, I really loved the interaction between the Kat and Laura and Logan (Tristan's two children). Who doesn't want to watch Disney movies and eat snack/fast foods instead of practicing their music and eating healthy snacks? When Logan asked for Kat when he was sick just melted my heart. Even though they were boss and associate at his law firm, they became attracted to each other that was at times very hot, he was always putting the kids first.

My only concern was that it was too short and I wished it was longer. Since Jaxson only made a brief appearance my guess is the next book will be his story? All in I really liked the book and give it a solid 4.8 stars.

3.5 stars. I've read Leading Witness first and this novela didn't quite it live up to that. However I still really enjoyed it and eager to read more in the series

Interesting.

I was on the fence with this one.

I have read some of her other books and loved them but with this one there didn't seem to be anything that just grabbed me. I did enjoy it but dang I wanted more from this book.

Hopefully I can go back in and read it again and maybe it'll happen then but man I really really wanted to be sucked into this one like I have been before into her books.

As always maybe next time..

The blurb lured me in, saying it was a series about 3 hot lawyers. But what i got instead was a rookie lawyer trying to find her footing starting her first job and the disjointed relationship she has with one of the partners.

The relationship between the H/h didn’t seem plausible. She’s irritated that he has her running errands, she visits his kid in the hospital and then they’re together. I needed some relationship development and I didn’t feel like I got that.
