Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for granting me an ARC.

The first thing that drew me in to Hotel Magnifique was the cover, the second was the title and the third was the summary. I found myself really intrigued and wanting to delve into the book to see if it was as good as my brain was making it out to be. I'm happy to say it was!

I found Jani on a lot of occasions to be quite selfish and rash. She wanted to give her sister a better life, but it couldn't be without her. I get it, family want to stick together but it seemed like Jani was only looking out for Zosa's best interests if she got something out of it as well. It left me wondering how much she truly cared for Zosa's well-being.

I was a little suspicious of Bel and at one point believed that he was the ringmaster around the mysteries of the hotel. I definitely wasn't expecting the twist towards the end however, surrounding the maƮtre.

The book starts to take a darker turn mid-way through so I personally wouldn't recommend anyone below the age of 15 to read it, or anyone who is squeamish about eyes.

This book hooked me from the start, not only from the awesome cover but from the story itself. What person wouldn't dream of something better for themselves and a sibling??
Jani is 17 and wanting something more for her and her younger sister Zosa.
She wants a better life for them, when their mother died she made a promise to always keep Zosa safe.
But as time passed Jani wondered of moving from their village was worth it?
But when Jani see's in the newspaper that Hotel Magnifique is hiring she thinks that's their golden ticket out of here and they can go to elsewhere.
With Zosa's singing Jani thinks she can find a job as well. But when Jani doesn't get hired on, only her sister.
Jani begs and pleads with Bel that she can't be apart from her sister, she made a promise to their mother.
Eventually Bel agrees, but everything is definitely not as it seems in this hotel. Magic isn't what it really is. And soon Jani finds out secrets and what they actually do to the hotel staff. When her sister gets turned into a bird everyday except for when she sings Jani's mission is to save just her. But as more secrets come about, her mission is to not only save her sister but everyone including the handsome Bel. With questions as to why she can always remember everything when staff and guests do not. The more answers she finds, the more questions she has. Questions even about herself that she never knew. Can she save the people she cares about including herself?
Also can we just get another book?

Would've rated Hotel Magnifique higher if it wasn't for our main character. Jani is probably the most infuriatingly dumb, selfish, and overall annoying main character I've ever read about. Her enemies to lovers romance is probably my least favourite enemies to lovers ever. She managed to make both the 'enemies' and the 'lovers' part unconvincing. Jani honestly deserves an award for that.

My dearest Jani, I sincerely hope I never ever have to read about you again <3

I was excited for this book when I first heard the premise, but refrained from reading it because of lack luster reviews. Glad I read it anyway, it was good and exactly what I wanted from a magic hotel with a mysterious and possibly dark past.
