Review - I love some of Ahern's work and hate others. What I particularly liked about this one was that love was merely a background factor and what was at the forefront of this novel was the inspiring stories of her subjects and the legacy of Constance. Ahern has written another brilliant novel, and I hope she keeps up this standard of work. Kitty was a flawed young woman who managed to claw it back and the inspiring stories of the other characters particularly Birdie and Ambrose were amazingly told.

Genre - Mystery / Chic Lit / Drama

Characters - Kitty / Constance / Birdie / Ambrose / Bob / Mary-Rose

I loved it as I loved all the other Cecelia's books! I love her magic way to tell stories.

One Hundred Names by Cecelia Ahern
My all time fave author—never disappoints. There’s a reason why I always buy Ahern’s novels without reading the plot. I always know that i’m in for a treat.

Now, takeaway of the story: Just like Kitty (protagonist) we are always in search for the interesting things to talk or write about. We can lose excitement from the mundane things in life and feel that our lives could bore other people. That if we lose the things that makes US unique and interesting, nobody will give a bat of an eye to our direction.

But all of our stories are worth sharing, that we are ought to be heard, WE are the story—no need for drama, underlying secrets or other complicated stuff to make someone interesting. Sometimes, we just need someone to really look at us, to listen to our stories, to understand where we’re coming from and to see the beauty that we cannot see for ourselves

A very sweet story about redemption and how everyone has a story of their own. I really appreciate how flawed Ahern’s characters are. Real, human flaws that are unattractive but normal. The characters learn and grow and will probably never be perfect, but that’s kind of the point.

This book was pedestrian and felt formulaic to me. I didn't find Kitty to be a sympathetic character, and while I'm not generally bothered by unlikable characters I don't think that's what the author was going for here. The love interest was barely present and one-dimensional (I can't even remember his name) and I found myself wondering why we needed the romance thread. It was trying far too hard to do far too much.
