As a statistics teacher, this was a fun read. Of course, I’m skeptical of many of the studies discussed here in terms of sample size, sampling bias, etc but a lot of them make sense and it will impact my decision making on everyday rational….errr…irrational decisions.

Some of the research seems a little staged based on how it is described and how it was executed, like the researcher wanted a particular outcome and made sure that the results matched the hypothesis or went against the hypothesis to support "predictable irrationality". However, some of the research and the results of that research matched what I have seen in retail regarding pricing and thresholds for value. It was interesting to see something that looked into the behavior of these actions.

Solid read introducing behavioral economics

Dan is a great storyteller and obviously a unique character. I enjoyed the learnings and how he framed them so expertly. 5 stars because I was excited to pick up this book every night and learn something new about how we are so predictably irrational.

This one was a difficult one for me to rate. I was tempted to give this book a three. The book wasn't super stunning writing. At times, it was difficult for me to sift through. But I think that is because it stuck to the facts and shared research rather than reporting on sensational, but anecdotal stories, and I really appreciated that. I thought the book was extremely informative and I now want to be more careful about stepping back and examining my thought processes and decisions when deciding how to spend my money.
