the bonus chapter mystery is more intriguing than the actual mystery. and her friends had basically no character. this book is definitely more romance than plot.

i cannot get over how many times i had to read "gravel" in reference to Vad's voice.

It was so good but it felt almost…bland at times. Vad was a nice treat and the school looked beautiful but i wanted more considering its over 400 pages

I loved the atmospheric, autumnal vibes I got from this gothic mystery romance, and was not disappointed to find a haunted university in a castle?? What more can a girl want 🏰

Vad and Corvina make for a cute pair, with some pretty good 🌶️🌶️ and a pretty good connection. It was quite insta-lusty, but it worked this time. There are still questions about a sequel, because many mysteries still remain (about Vad and his grandad; Vad and Ajax’s friendship; why the disappearances…. Etc), and I’d gladly read more from this world.

The best thing about this book, which is probably not what you expect and definitely NOT what I expected, was the mental health rep for schizophrenia. It really warmed my heart to see Vad actually take good care of Corvina, and also the doctor was actually super wholesome and supportive for once. 10/10 for this.

I can’t believe I made myself finish this. The description led me to think it would be up my alley but yikes. Terrible writing, ick “romance”, I thought there was a mystery but then pretty much zero answers. How did this get published
