Lisa Jewell never disappoints me oh my goodness

‘But I suppose the problem is that people often don't realize that their lives are changing for the better until after the event, when they stop to look back’

This book gripped me from every page. The twists and the turns. I low-key want to be Alix’ friend. I want to have margaritas and pizza parties with her. I want to get a Brie and ham panini in the park cafe with her and a cappuccino from her Nespresso machine.

Josie. I never want to be friends with her lol.

Nathan, despite his ‘benders’ seems liked a loving husband and I hate Josie for taking that away from him.

And Walter, you should never have left Essex.

Now I just need an actual Netflix series on this.

This was a good audiobook listen for true crime lovers. The actual story was interesting and the way it’s told from multiple perspectives and in different formats was really cool. The actual story is predictable but still leaves some mystery and kept me interested. I would say the ending was quite lacking as it dragged on and seemed to conclude four or five separate ways without giving the reader a true ending feeling. The conclusion just feels…missing. Still a good read!

Great read, hooked from the start. Twisty and completely addictive. Was on the edge of my seat! 4.5 stars cause I was a little annoyed at the ending but that makes it a great book! Absolutely loved the acknowledgments at the end too!

Possible 5 star?? Not sure how I feel about the victim blaming at the end? Regardless of what happened, Josie was still a victim, and Walter’s and Pat’s behavior cannot be glossed over??? Other than that, I would’ve given this 5 stars.
