This book was great to read especially if you like the little mermaid from Disney. I believe it’s the source material but is different enough that it keeps your attention. Without going into spoilers if you seen the movie you still won’t see the ending coming. It was a nice book to read and see how this book was used to make the Disney movie.

This really broke my heart as a little girl when The Little Mermaid was my favorite movie and naturally I wanted to read the fairy tale in the original.

I never realized how true to the actual story Disney was. Obviously there was no flounder or Sebastian, but the core ideas of the story (except the ending) carried through into the movie.
