This will be the last serial killer/thriller I read for a while. I think I got this free from Kindle First, but it still took up time to read it. And while it was well-written enough to keep me going until the end, there was nothing compelling about it, nothing original about it (except perhaps the signature of the killer), that made me think it was worth my time to read yet another serial killer novel instead of something better.

The murder mystery was definitely interesting. It's fucked up beyond words but I've never read this type of murder before.

I didn't really warm up to either Zoe or Tatum. Zoe is a brilliant forensic psychologist but at times I didn't get that. Maybe it was just the writing but sometimes she came across as a rookie. Also, the fact that she's not trained just doesn't fit her character. For someone who encountered a serial killer when she was 14 and and been stalked by said serial killer, it's hard to picture them not being trained or carrying down sort of weapon with them.

The multiple POVs really worked. The killer's POV just gave us enough without giving much away. That was rather interesting especially when matching it to the way Zoe was able to come to the conclusion.

There was definitely some plot holes and parts that needed to be written better. Overall, it was intriguing enough that I want to continue with book 2.

This was a great story. Very well done and plenty of twists and turns as they try and find the serial killer as well as the one that is stalking Zoe. Zoe was great at looking at things differently, asking the questions to put the puzzle together to try and figure out who the serial killer was. Tatum and Zoe made a great team once Tatum starting listening and figured out that Zoe did know what she was doing and she was good at it. She didn’t just throw ideas or things around without having reasons behind it. I’m excited to see where this series goes next and for more of Zoe and Tatum solving cases and catching murders.

I always enjoy a good FBI profiler or as Zoe would say, forensic psychologist, book. Enjoyed the partnership of Tatum and Zoe, the short chapters and the killers POV. Thought I had it figured out early then I was wrong. Pacing was good but ending felt abrupt but did leave me wanting to continue the story in the next book

Excellent thriller/mystery. I love the complexity of the main characters and what they brought out in each other. I look forward to more books in this upcoming series.

Oh. My. God.
This book was thrilling. I could not put it down. Literally. Im still thinking about this book and already anticipating the next. Honestly, the best thriller I've ever read.
