Another lighthearted read by Sarah!! This one was hilarious!!! I really liked that this was still a sibling bestie trope, but it's SISTERs best friend!!!

Jessie is pregnant and really struggling with life right now. Her house is under construction, and the contractors find more that needs to be done at every turn. This means that Jessie needs a place to stay. Cooper, Lucy, & Levi are the starting point, but between being woken up by a child & being kept away with her best friend's sexy time, it's a disaster.
I thought this whole dynamic was hilarious!! Sarah used this newly wed subplot dynamic super well!!

Drew is a gyno, a grumpy, serious gyno who likes things to be a certain way. He practically dared Jessie to move in with him. Idk why he pushed her buttons like that, but it worked.

These two are so fun together. Their fake dating prank wars are the highlight of the book. The itty bitty ring proposal in front of Drew's colleagues was hilarious. Then, the lobster meal retaliation scene was epic.

I liked how Drew naturally wanted to take care of Jessie.
I liked Jessie's Grandpa.

I didn't like Jessie's reason for "hating" Drew. It was not a good enough reason, in my opinion. It was just so immature & judgemental.

Men written by @authorsarahadams are chef's kiss!
Wow wow wow!
The enemies to lovers, slow burn romance that occurs in this book was so beautifully written. Not to mention, watching how effortless the relationship between Jessie and Drew was had my heart melting. They are truly so perfect together. I'm so glad that after the glimpses into their rivalry that were in book 1 (The Off Limits Rule) that we got a chance to experience their story. I simply loved how Lucy and Cooper knew IMMEDIATELY how perfect Jessie and Drew were together. Ugh I loved this book!

“You want fire and passion. You want pillow fights and prank wars. You want to be challenged, and fought with, and deeply wanted.”

The second book in the 'It Happened in Nashville' series. Again just like the first, it was your typical cozy, easy to read cutsie romance book. I will add that I preferred this book over the first (I think my love for Drew outweighed Cooper) but not enough to give this a higher rating the the other.

The enemies to lover trope was gripped me, even though the reason for the enemies part was unnecessary pointless. The prank wars between them were really cute as well as Drew being caring and worried for Jessie through her pregnancy even though she was a bit of a bitch towards him. I really wished the reason was a bit better then it was.

As I’ve loved Sarah Adams’ latest books, I am taking advantage of the re-release of her back catalogue to discover her earlier work. You can definitely recognise her style, it’s funny, witty, very light but in the best sense of the term that will make you smile all throughout the book.

I’m not the biggest fan of insta love / lust nor insta hate so I was a little bit thrown off by the beginning of this book and how wild both Jessie and Drew were in their feelings which was very much « I hate him/her for absolutely no reason but I also want him/her at the same time ». It was just a bit lacking of building up in the beginning for me for them to get to that point. However, they were both so funny. Their characters were a bit ridiculous but also very cute, their dialogues and pranks are hilarious; the whole book as the cutest romcom vibe and I was here for it.

I think Sarah’s latest work are much more my style as her writing has evolved and the stories and plot are stronger, but this was a good fun and light read.

*I received an ARC of this book, this is my honest opinion*

Just had no interest is these characters or this story. I would usually just power through to finish a book like this, but I just wasn’t in the mood today. I also though the main characters were really childish for their big ages 😭 Like these were not 30 year olds- it seemed like I was reading about teenagers… I usually don’t like the pregnancy trope, though this was a different use of it. In this case, I just didn’t care… These characters gave me nothing.

The characters are childish which is surprising considering they are grown adults..
The pranks they pulled on each other weren't funny, they were awkward and also pretty childish.
Jessie used her pregnancy as an excuse for a lot of things..
She also had no character developement and is definitely not a girl's girl. Critizising other women for their choices, calling them names and other childish, rude things.
There were sooooo many awkward and cringe moments and dialogues that I just could not finish this book. It gave me a headache.
The storyline was not very well thought through and I'm sorry to say this, but the writing style was not it. Not in the least.

This book has pregnancy trope (not accidental), forced proximity, enemies to lovers, and fake dating. It is all the stuff that should make a romance book good. Unfortunately, this one isn't. I found both Jessie and Drew childish, especially at their big age. I don't care if it's "enemies to lovers" because it wasn't giving that at all. They were both annoying, and the pranks they pulled on each other were not even funny or clever. I also feel like only Drew went through a character development that made sense. Jessie didn't have one at all. It was like she woke up one day and realized, "Oh wait, I actually like and love you." She was unlikeable at times, and her pregnancy wasn't even an excuse. I wished there were more of them actually liking each other and not left in the last 90% of the book because that just indicated the lack of development as characters and as a couple. The epilogue was sweet, though; I'll give them that.

Thank you, NetGally, for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
