I knew that this book was going to both wreck me and also be amazing(is it a Sabaa Tahir book if it doesn’t?), so I have been putting it off. But I finally decided to read it. Should I have maybe considered I would be crying at some point before I decided to read it on an airplane? Probably….

While this book did absolutely wreck me, I could not put it down. And courtesy of a cross country flight, I read it in one sitting. First, it absolutely deserves every accolade it has received and second, shame on anyone banning this book and taking it out of the hands of young (and older) people alike. Salahudin, Noor, and Misbah’s stories were so beautifully intertwined and Sabaa crafted such an amazing world- I felt like I was right there with the characters. I felt all Salahudin’s desperation, the time slipping through Misbah’s fingers, and Noor’s rage. I felt the love and the light that Khadija and Shafiq brought to the story. I feel like Noor’s character arc throughout the book around forgiveness and rage resonated with me the most (cough cough the state of the world). Check content warnings because there are some heavy topics in this book, but if you are capable of reading it, I would highly recommend All My Rage.

I was also so invested in the downfall of Jamie Jensen. Thanks to Ashlee for that gem

I was not prepared for how this book grabbed my emotions. It was a little slow to start, but hit it stride by the halfway mark.

I really adored this book. It was the only reason it can’t be a five star is the at I was not really invested or really care about it in the first 25% but after I was deeply invested. I liked the characters and the way that you could feel that the main characters had a history without it all having to be written out. I thought the plot was really good especially at the end when things just kept unfolding and going. I thought it was really well done and you could really feel the characters rage and anger at the situations that they were forced into.

This book got sadder and sadder as it progressed. My emotions were a rollecoaster switching from anger, relief, sadness and hope.

I really liked the book, how it touched important topics swiftly even if some were not directly mentioned. I saw some reviews not liking that, but I think life is made of those kind of moments, when you get to know someone and you connect emotionally with them, even if they don't tell you exactly what is happening to them or what is wrong in their lives. Now, I'm not saying is good to keep quiet about these things, just that sometimes the topics are right in front of our faces and we have to choose if we ignore them or if we face them.

About the main characters, I connected with them deeply even if I had never been under the same circumstances they are living durin the book. They felt very real in both their good and bad actions.

Switching topics, I have no idea how legal courts work, specially not in the US, but it felt almost too easy how Noor was free from charges and Sal got his sentence reduced considerably.
