SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)

Josie has been desperately wanting to resonate, but with her IUD still firmly in place and no way to remove it, she doesn’t know how long it will be until she finally meets her mate. And now that she finds herself as the last unmated human female she feels lonelier than ever.

But when her IUD falls out on its own (thanks to her khui pushing it out), she is pleased to see herself start resonating almost immediately. Until she sees who she resonates with — the one male on the planet she hates, Haeden.

Now she is trying to find a way out of this predicament, while Haeden is doing everything he can to convince her he will be a good mate.

Along the way, they stumble across the crashed ship that tried to re-kidnap Kira and discover two more human females in the pods within the ship.

REVIEW:

I was really looking forward to this book because the banter between Josie and Haeden in the previous books has been really fun and cute. So I was expecting some adorable bickering and banter in this one, with maybe a little hate sex thrown in there to calm their khui’s. lol

Unfortunately this wasn’t at all what the book was. It was a bit of a letdown. Mainly because of Josie.

Josie has had a hard past, but she’s always tried to stay positive. But as a foster kid who has been through the worst kind of abuse, she is desperate for a family of her own to love her. Which is why I find it really weird how picky she is when she finally resonates with someone.

Sure, Haeden has been surly and broody. But he’s also never hurt her. And even after he shares his past and reasons for how he is with her, and when he is trying his hardest to be kind, she acts so rude and selfish towards him.

I did not like how she treated him at all for the first 60% of the book or so. It wasn’t cute or fun bickering. It was just a selfish bratty girl who didn’t care how much she hurt him. And it really brought the whole book down for me. By the time she finally came around I was already pretty put off by her.

Haeden was a surprise though. His reasons for being so surly were reasonable, and I’m kind of a sucker for a grumpy hero. He was also really sweet and protective. I also liked his innocence since he’s a virgin. But he gets the hang of things quickly! lol The scene of him carrying her across the wilderness while having sex with her was surprisingly hot!

Overall this was definitely not a favorite for me. Josie turned out to be just a bratty selfish person and I didn’t like her. Still, I enjoy this series. They are typically fairly fun reads that are on the lighter side of drama with super sweet alien guys as the heroes. It’s not the type of series I could personally binge or anything, but I still enjoy them when I am in the mood to read them. I’ll definitely keep reading them. Josie was a bit of a dud though. Blah.

Started this series out of curiosity. It’s so bad. I don’t know why I’m still here and yet I am… six books later….

All I can say is I cannot get enough of this series.
Josie does NOT want to resonate to Haeden. It's an enemies to lovers and miscommunication trope.
