Good continuation, following the “clues” to try and work out what is actually going on in the city, and good teaser for volume 3

Now that Shion survived the attack from the bee, his hair is white and he has the imprint of a snake coiling around his body. They’re not sure why yet, but they both realize he was lucky to survive it. I’m intrigued by where that plot point is going, what the reason behind it is.
Then Shion gets to see the West Block for the first time, and realizes that he needs to toughen up if he’s going to survive here. I like Shion. He’s a sweet, naïve kid, straightforward for the most part. And he’s in such contrast with Rat, that seeing their relationship grow is nice. Rat is very cynical and merciless. But he’s obviously forming a soft spot for Shion.
We also met the Dogkeeper in this volume. She runs a hotel and owns dogs. She’s similar to Rat, used to living in a dangerous environment, as well as being very knowing about what’s going on. I like her, and look forward to seeing more of her. We met Safu, a friend of Shion’s inside No. 6, and we saw her for a miniscule second in this book as well. I look forward to seeing what happens with her, as it’s sure to be interesting.
We’re still just getting introduced to the world of No. 6, all the makings of it, along with Shion, who’s been pretty oblivious about it all until now. At this point, I’m intrigued. I look forward to seeing what happens next.
