I have to admit that I was a little disappointed with this one, which didn’t quite live up to the promise of the first in the series.

I didn’t dislike the journey that takes a large chunk in the middle of the book, but it felt quite episodic and didn’t really drive the plot forward.
SpoilerI wished Mia and Ash’s relationship could have been expressed by more than sex, because really I didn’t care, and I found the whole undead love triangle pretty frustrating.

The ending was exciting- plenty of battles and the magic used to its fullest, but in the end I found Scaeva a disappointing villain, and would have liked a bit more. I didn’t think the resolution lived up to the promise of the earlier books,
Spoilerand I found the HEA pretty jarring and unsatisfying.

As I sped hot and heavy on my way to finish this series as fast as possible I can’t help but think that this book could have done with a lot less smut, and perhaps some more concise scene setting. I felt like parts of this were so rushed and others dragged on for an age. The ultimate ending/ conclusion was satisfying but I was still left feeling as if something was missing. Overall I loved this series and even if I’m disappointed in this conclusion I still enjoyed reading it and loved how cheeky the narrator is. If you read this and skip the footnotes you are missing out on some of my favorite parts in this series!

I closed this book 10 minutes ago and I’m still trying to gather my thoughts.

I haven’t been this affected by a story in a very long time. Mias story ended beautifully and I’ll dearly miss her and Mister Kindly.

My heart breaks but, yet, it also remains completely satisfied with how this ending played out.

Three books with these characters (or two in other cases) and I still need more.

I want to know about Mia and Ash’s adventures (or their mundane life), I want to know about Sid and ‘Singers wedding and I want to know how our dear Mr Cloud is faring (a spin off about him is all I ask!!!)

But nonetheless gentlefriends, this series was phenomenal and I don’t think this is something I’ll be getting over quite so soon.

Phew. Honestly disappointed by this book. Didn’t mind the end, but everything in the middle was way too drawn out.

Phenomenal. Quite possibly my favourite series ever. If it wasn't for <spolier>the fact that mia chose wrong going for ashlinn over tricky it would be flawless

A perfect finale.

Jay outdid himself with this epic finale. This book is one of my favorites!

The story is on point. The pace perfect. It delivers everything that was promised in the CAVEAT EMPTOR in Nevernight and more!

The writing style is more in line with the second book, not so extravagant as the first book, but still distinctive enough to be called a Nevernight Chronicle.

This book is hard to put the book down. You just want to keep reading.

If you haven't read this book or any of the Nevernight Chronicles for that matter, I highly recommend you remedy the situation as soon as possible. These books are definitely worthy of your time!
