It is that I never DNF a book but.... blimey this is a tough one to get through.
The second half of the book I really liked but the first half is so slow and boring it took me ages to get through

A satisfying conclusion that wrapped up all the ends nicely. Though at times it seemed like the author was just making up the magic system as the story went along. Rules and facets that were never mentioned before suddenly provided a convenient solution. Also the plot was a bit all over the place and repetitive at certain points. The characters are always separated and very lost and confused for a majority of the book (like they were in the first one). But what made it fun for me were the relationships between the characters and the writing. It’s super readable and because I was invested in the characters and I liked them, I didn’t mind too much that the plot was chaotic, I was just along for the ride.

the first half of this book wasn’t all that great and seemed really repetitive from the first one. a lot of the same things happened again just for different reasons so it became kind of boring to read. the second half though, i liked a lot better. the ending went in a direction that i’m not really sure i liked but it still make me cry lol. i wish that the first half would have been better though

Cette duologie fut une belle découverte! Encore une fois, j’ai apprécié que chacun des POV ait un narrateur différent. Les narrateurs étaient aussi très bons. Je sentais l’émotion dans leur voix. J’ai aimé le système de magie et l’univers. J’ai aimé l’évolution des relations entre les personnages.

I am heartbroken by my rating. I don't need to be told for 434 pages, that Ailesse's tiger shark grace was the cause for this and the jackal was the cause of Sabines nasty temper. remind me ONCE and leave it alone.
