This book has a fantastically world with comedy and suspense built ever together into the story line. The world of London Below is astoundingly complex- and I have no doubt that I would be Richard in this story.

There are twist and turns and comedic relief that really pull the story into a great read. The writing is superb. I personally loved the writing style. The complex details of something so minuscule just to make fun of the fact that you’ve learned about something completely unrelated to the situation.

This is my first read of his, and I can tell you I would love to read more of his works!

I highly recommend this if you’ve been wanting to read it!

I was so disappointed by this book! The first chapter was excellent- and then the entire rest of the book was a wild goose chase to find random magical objects and meet some magical medieval-esque people. That’s it! No emotional depth, no character progression, just characters running together through the Underground.

Gaiman writes in the introduction that he wanted to write a fairy tale for adults, and really, that's what this is, a fairy tale that manages to be darker than anything the Grimms imagined. It's also a beautiful constructed work of art, as the atmosphere and imagery of London Below draw you (and Richard) into a world where everything is starker and the stakes get higher and higher.

In a word: fantastic. I mean, all of Neil Gaiman's work is fantastic (no exaggeration) but Neverwhere remains my favorite for the incredibly well-imagined world that Gaiman creates. Very dark, very compelling story and one you won't forget anytime soon.

I really like Gaiman's writing style! This book really reminded me of Stardust, but in London Below. I enjoyed it!

Revisiting this book after almost a decade was lots of fun, especially as this time, Neil Himself narrated the audiobook. Definitely worth the listen-to.
