A wonderful romantic thriller with some unconventional characters. Jenna is running from an abusive ex. She's overweight and bears the scars of her past relationship, so of course she has some body issues. Ryker is perfectly chiseled and covered in tattoos and piercings! Really piercing, guys never have those in romances and the author uses some very erotic imagery to prove that they should. Then of course there's Mikey, the angst-ridden teen-aged younger brother of Ryker who doesn't seem to mind that everyone still calls him Mikey, but whatever.

The story takes place over a weekend when Jenna's car breaks down and she has to wait for parts to come in for Ryker to fix it. In the meantime, Jenna finds out that her evil ex has gotten out of prison early and has missed his parole. Ryker chalks up the weird, scary events up to coincidence and her imagination, but Jenna is really worried about Garret (said evil ex) having found her.

Love springs up overnight between Ryker and Jenna and she finds that the more she is around him the less self-conscious she feels.

The sex scenes are super steamy and the parts between full of a good mix of sexual tension (even after sex has been had), emotional growing/healing, and fear--three things that bring them closer together so quickly.

It was a quick read and I had troubles putting it down when I had to.

I only came across Marissa's books this year when I joined a book club on Facebook. Since reading one of her books I've become a huge fan. The great thing about Marissa is her versatility. She has written a few different types of genre and I've enjoyed all of them. This is another different type of genre to Marissa's usual books. This is a romantic thriller which is great for those that enjoy a bit of romance but has you on the edge of your seat at the same time. The main thing I loved about this book, is the lead female character Jenna. Jenna is a character that I think most women will be able to relate to, where as most leading characters are size zero and would look great in a bin liner, Jenna is emotionally scarred due to her previous relationship and lacks confidence due to her weight, even turning to food for comfort. She is much more of a believable character and I think a lot of people will be able to see parts of themselves in her. The love interest, Ryker, well I think we would all love one of him in our lives. Good job he is a fictional character otherwise I think he would have hoards of women breaking his door down. Another great book that any love/thrill seeker will enjoy.

First of all I'd like to say thanks to Tracy from TBConFB for sending me a copy of this book for review.
This is the first book I've read by Marissa Farrar and I don't think I've ever read a Romantic Thriller before.

Jenna has had a tough year after a terrible car accident which has left her scarred and scared and un-able to stay in the same place for any amount of time until her car breaks down and there's nothing else for it but to stay in the small town of Arlington until it is fixed.

I liked the fact that this book had romance which makes you feel quite gooey and the thriller side keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Jenna is a character a lot of women will be able to connect with straight away. She's an average overweight, self conscious lady who likes her food. She's very hard on herself but this was a refreshing change from the usual heroines in books who are stick thin and beautiful usually.
There's not a great deal of characters to get to know through the book which was nice. It gives you the chance to get know each one well and they are believable characters too.
I liked the chemistry between Jenna and Ryker, the hunky tattooed and pierced mechanic. I was sitting reading and willing things to happen but Jenna can't understand why a guy like Ryker would like her and I just wanted to reach in, grab Jenna and give her a good shake.
The thriller side of the book keeps you guessing and Garrett, Jenna's horrible ex is a nasty man who made me shiver but a perfect villain.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it's a feel good book with drama and thriller thrown in.
I'd recommend this book to anyone who likes romantic thrillers with believable characters and a hunky mechanic but if like me you've never read a romantic thriller before I say give this one a try, you won't be disappointed.
