I was intrigued when I started, but I’m not sure what I even expected. it kind of goes off the rails in a few places and then… it ends. The ending is meh. You expect it, I expected it through the entire book but then there is a “twist” literally thrown at you and… the end. I get wanting a cliff hanger but it felt off. 

Also… killing the dog??? Almost DNF.

I was surprised by the route this author took this fantasy story in. I thought it was going to be a run of the mill fantasy romance but was happy to some twists and turns. It’s an easy and fast read with interesting characters. I have some issues with Priya and how she treats Finn so I hope we see some character development in the next book. Overall, it was a decent read. I would recommend if you want a quick fantasy without crazy world building. **Definitely check out trigger warning as there is a lot of graphic content in this book**

I wasn't sure exactly what to expect when I started this book. The beginning and end were AMAZING. I couldn't have asked for better. 
While I definitely feel like there's still a lot to learn about the world, and more than a few unanswered questions, I loved this story. Finn is everything I want in a badass woman and Gideon has all the best parts of a villainous romance book. 
The middle got a little slow and frankly too gorey for my taste, but the ending was completely worth the time spent to finish the book.
Overall I find myself excited for the next book and more of Finn kicking butt.

***This book did nothing half way. All of the violence and smut is very in your face and will likely make you uncomfortable
