My Review 4 STARS
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I would certainly be up for reading more of her work in the future. This book has been sitting on my shelf for a while gathering dust and I finally got round to reading a paperback instead of an ebook.

Both of the main characters in this book are flawed and both have been hurt by people in the past. Declan has the death of his mother and a rocky relationship with his father. Elizabeth has a past event that has left her reeling even though she thinks she is ok.

Elizabeth has two good friends in Shelley and Blake, although Blake would like there to be more to their relationship. Shelley is a true best friend to Elizabeth and is there to encourage and push her when needed, but knows when to just be their.

Declan has his twin brother and they have a very close relationship, both are damaged, but both have soft hearts underneath and Dax sticks up for his brother and tells Elizabeth a few home truths.

The book is a bit of a slow burn, there are some spicy scenes and Elizabeth learns to let go of the past and to move forward, especially with Declan by her side.

This was an enjoyable read. The story was very interesting. I thought that it was a refreshing remake of Pride and Prejudice. Declan Blay aka Mr. Darcy is the Sexiest Man on the Whitman University, a fighter and an English major student with a minor in business. Elizabeth Bennett has a troubled past as she was raped by her high school boyfriend at prom. She is into literature and making jewelry. She lives by her own rules because she does not want to be in a vulnerable situation again. I thought both characters were great. The secondary characters were great as well. I cannot wait to read Declan's twin brother, Dax's love story, which is a refreshing remake of Romeo and Juliet without the unhappily ever after. Overall, a great read.

I loved this modern day Pride and Prejudice! I could understand Elizabeth's reluctance after all of the things that happened to her, but Declan was such an amazing guy. I was happy to see him push through her walls, but at times I felt like he gave up a little too easy. I loved all of the side characters, especially Dax. I can't wait to start the next book. I have been on an Ilsa binge lately!

As with other book written by Ilsa Madden-Mills, this book is suck you right in, cannot put it down, and hot steamy good! Unlike her other books, this is a college age book, and mostly takes place around the life of college students. This book is very Pride and Prejudice ‘like’.

The heroin is from the wrong side of the tracks and has a let’s say horrid life that she is picking herself up from and doing a damn good job. With everything including her own mother going against her, Elizabeth Bennett, I trying to put a very bad experience behind her. Her worst fears come back to haunt her, when her Mr. Darcy saves the day.

Declan is the HOT Brit with the muscles and accent that will melt the panties off every co-ed on campus. Wait, he already did that! He is also the best underground fighter, which, is something that Elizabeth is not too pleased to find out. But when those fighting skills are used to save the day, what can she say!!

The characters are strong and developed and the story is amazing. I was hooked from the first paragraph. This is a standalone book, but I really wish that Ilsa would turn it into a series just so we can find out more of the other characters. I want to know more about Dax, Declan’s twin brother.
