Probably my favourite worthless boys book so far! Absolutely loved Ant and Jazz and their relationship, enemies to lovers is my number 1 trope though so I may be a little biased. I adore the writing style and really enjoy the gritty plots of this series! 4/5

The author provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This took me a while to get into, tbh. I’m not really into darker romances these days. Plus, the slow burn between Jazz and Ant felt realllly slow.

However, once things started heating up between Jazz and Ant, I started to enjoy LONE AND LIFELESS a lot more! Bailey Nicole can write a damn sex scene, that’s for sure. There was no lack of chemistry between the two MCs. I really loved how it went from barely being able to tolerate each other into not being able to refrain from touching each other. The enemies to lovers trope was done well! But like I said above, the slow burn felt a little too slow for my liking.

Jazz and Ant were interesting because I felt like they saw each other completely differently from how they were written. Like, it felt like their POV chapters were disconnected from how they were in their non-POV chapters if that makes sense. But, I guess it’s not necessarily a negative. I think it was just jarring.

Dark romances tend to come off as way too dramatic and a bit corny and unfortunately LONE AND LIFELESS had those moments. I’m sorry but the way Jazz reacted to Ant having the panic attack close to the end of the book was just wild! I know it was Ant’s opportunity to prove to Jazz that he would love him no matter what, but the healed part of me wants to throttle Ant for not wanting better.

I really liked it. And will be rereading first two books soon. These books aren’t light. But they suck you in. All the misery in it’s different form.

Bailey’s best release to date. This one wraps up the Worthless Boys series so perfectly. Ant & Jazz are so different but so relatable. They both make assumptions about one another which comes from their own trauma/self esteem. They don’t expect to find love in one another but they can’t ignore the tension & bated breaths & lingering looks. If the prologue doesn’t hook you right away (I mean, hello threesome), then idk what to tell you because you are missing out if you don’t read this. Can be read as a stand alone but I definitely rec reading the whole series so you can experience Bailey’s growth in their writing!
