The only reason I’m even giving this book any stars is because she is clearly an incredibly talented writer. Unfortunately, she is a narcissistic, hateful person lacking any sort of moral compass and blaming all her flaws on her childhood which—in comparison to so many others (mine included)—seemed pretty dang great. great. And, quite frankly, given the rest of her tall tales throughout the book, I don’t even know how much of her story I believe. 😏 I kept reading in hopes that there would be redemption in the end. Spoiler alert: there wasn’t. The lack of empathy, compassion, and self-awareness in this obviously intelligent woman is mind-boggling. She’s clearly an addict (takes one to know one 😊). She needs a 12 Step meeting and a sponsor STAT. I’ve never had such a visceral reaction to an author in my entire life. But, my guess is that she would LOVE that. Oh, and all the name-dropping of people who most readers don’t know but she acts as if they’re celebrities—I just can’t. I don’t even know how many times I thought, “GET OVER YOURSELF” while reading this book. What a sad waste of such amazing talent.
