i picked this up at a bogo sale and i’m very glad i did. the book is told in a transcript format, which adds more fun to the voice in your head that reads! there are endless twists and turns until the very end. 4.5 for me. incredibly well done.

I was skeptical at first given how much I didn't like The Appeal, but I'm so glad I read this. I had no idea what was gonna happen. I didn't see any of the plot twists coming. The unreliable narrator was so well done and the ending was so satisfying. This is in an insanely clever book and I could easily go back and read it all again to find the clues.

(it's not really a murder mystery tho)

Just a chef's kiss of a book. So clever, with code upon code upon code within it, and a poignant, satisfying ending that made me tear up. It's a game within a book, and love letter from a father to son. Really wonderful.
