This was literally so funny I was laughing out loud. Cherry and Dante are such fun characters and I thought that their interactions were cute and funny. The way that these characters interacted really had it feeling realistic. This had me feeling for the characters. Don't ask me about the plot tho.

I think this has to be my favorite book out of the series. I loved Cherry and Dante's dynamic so much!

The adventure in this was so much fun! It was almost like Cherry had her own Pokédex with the Book of Beasts.

I think one of my favorite parts was when

all of the demon men had their literal dick measuring contest with the book lmao.

Also

Rebecca being a demon was auch a funny twist! And also mildly horrifying because what do you mean the adorable fluff ball is turning people into zombies!?

I loved the return of the talking sword!

I seriously hope she gets her own book so she can get her own body and some mermaid booty.

The reunion with the family was also so sweet and had me absolutely sobbing. I love love loved that ending.

Also not to be feral butttt

the THRONE scnene was absolutely everything.

I need a new Mead Mishaps book ASAP. Tbh I kind of want Cumin to end up with Dante's sister. Or for both of them to at least get their own story or novella!

In conclusion I love Kimberly Lemming.

Book three needed a bit of editing (as usual) and not everything made sense plot wise. The adventure was fun but the smut gave me the ick. Not a safe, equal relationship. BDSM after a kidnapping with no discussion of boundaries? Let's not normalize this even in fantasy.

GAH I had so much fun with this one! The only reason it isn't five stars is because I wanted to cry during The Reunion and see a bit more of it than we got, especially given how much emotional weight the separation carries in book 1.

Yes I'm being intentionally vague because I want everyone to experience the delight I did when they realise who this FMC is.

But otherwise? This was fun, sexy, a wee bit violent, irreverently funny, and full of surprises.

The way I SCREAMED when our fave sentient sword joined the chat. And Rebekah being Goose-like? lolol

SO DELIGHTFUL

Dante was SO gone but I'm glad C made him work for it lol. I need build-up and tension and internal angst before the spice y'all ok?! I really enjoyed that we got to learn more about dragons in this book and got to spend some time in Volsog and see more and different magic.

Now that I've read the whole trilogy I'm delighted by how connected all three books are! For some reason my brain definitely thought they were interconnected standalones but I do think they're more than that, with the events of each book building upon one another.

These books have a very special place in my heart and I'm so glad they've been traditionally published and can reach more people.

It was a really nice addition to the other books in the series, I found this one less funny than the others, but very easy to read. The characters were different enough that felt fresh and the cultural differences between the two of them made it enjoyable and funny.

TL;DR: Another fun entry in this series (made especially so by the lack of drunkenness and abundance of being drugged).

Any follower of this series may know the original title for this was ‘That Time I Drugged a Dragon’ which is a way more apt title. This follows Dante as he decides to leave Boohail and find some quiet and possibly his mate in the now free world.

Minor spoilers for those still early in the series - but his mate is Cherry, Cinnamon’s lost sister who she believed to be dead. Kidnapped by a water dog of sorts she has been kept in a tower by sleeping dragon for 5 years. Dante, visiting his old friend (the sleeping dragon), finds her and in a bid to get her escape, she drugs him. This part by far was the funniest part of the whole book, I am not going to lie. In the, let’s call it a scuffle, that follows the two become bonded into a forced marriage.

This series continues to just be fun. There isn’t a lot of meat here, and you can see that perhaps what’s driving it forward are the sex scenes, which I skim. But there is also a lot of creativity at hand. Kimberly Lemming continues to show a lot of promise and I enjoy these reads. This one also contains a book that acts remarkable like a Pokedex, which really tickled my little PokeMaster heart.

Can a relationship that starts with a spiked cup of tea, a deep suspicion of motives, and a tiara, be successful?

Of the three books, written by Kimberly Lemming, this third novel in the Mead Mishaps series, That Time I Got Drunk and Rescued a Human, spent the most time on the journey. Set in the same world as her previous two novels, we find our heroine, Cherry, who fails yet another attempt to escape from a dragon. The dragon whom she had the misfortune to meet kidnapped her, installed her in a tower, and proceeded to ignore her for five long years. Did I mention five years?

Enter our hero, Dante, a grumpy dragon, out searching for his fated mate, unexpectedly stumbles upon her. Dante instantly wants to rescue her. Desperately. Enough so that he politely chokes down a terrible cup of tea that Cherry serves him. Unfortunately, in her mind, drugging him would best help convince him to take her home. Whoops. It doesn't quite work out the way she intended.

So the adventure begins with mistrust at the relationship center. Can they build trust with her having been imprisoned by another dragon and his nonconsensual drugging? Cherry is so mistrustful, she basically gives Dante only a cardinal direction to take to her home village. Building trust cannot be hurried. In the mean time, road trip!

These two characters, in That Time I Got Drunk and Rescued a Human, did not have that instant connection that the other two couples built on during their own Mead Mishaps adventures. Speaking of whom, a few of the characters from the previous two novels in the series had incredibly funny cameo roles. Cinnamon, the spice, was prevalent in a book that was a joy to read. Speaking of spice, when Dante and Cherry finally come together, they combust. So much so, that I thought I might have to replace my brand new Kindle.

That That Time I Got Drunk and Rescued a Human was written by a BIPOC author, and diverse characters added the proverbial cherry on top. I look forward to Ms. Lemming's books to come.
