Be Brilliant Everyday is a follow up to The Art of Being Brilliant with additional information on how to tap into positivity.

I liked this book for the same reasons as I liked the initial book, however the parts about PTSD being a ‘negative view’ of a situation and you just need to be ‘grateful’ for the experience didn’t sit right with me as someone who has complex PTSD.

This was a realistic book that encourages the question of what kind of person do you want to be? Whilst the concepts aren't exactly new, this gives a different perspective to an existing problem, and is definitely a level up from the age old 'just be more positive' mantra. However, I wish this book had more practical tips on how to implement the advice as opposed to being an introduction for beginners.

Overall a good book, but more geared towards those who haven't converted to the notion of positive thinking, and less for those who are looking for how to go about doing it. Side note - I thought the constant flaming of his co author was a bit grating. I understand that it's supposed to help with the comic relief, but after a few times, it just came off mean.

In the beginning, I thought this book was going to be greaattt, but as it went on... yeah. I liked the fun and silly approach to self-help and happiness that this book takes, but I realllly didn't enjoy the subliminal sexist and misogynistic comments thrown in. As soon as something good and super interesting was mentioned, a shitty comment about women only wanting shoes or something pops up and ruins the moment. This book had great potential, but comments of that nature really brought down my rating, sadly.

Some interesting ideas in a very easily digested format, with a healthy dose of humour!
