I've been on a kick lately of reading books about women finding their peace and power, and this one fits so nicely into that niche. I loved the back and forth of past and present (sometimes that's not done well but this was), I loved the inclusion of pieces of the Wild Woman Handbook, and I loved the feeling of dread I got because I knew what was coming but I didn't know how it would play out. Really enjoyed this one!

I gobbled up this book, reading fast, and I admit, skipping words and whole sentences. I was concerned about the ending and caught up in the gallop of the story. This isn't a book I savoured and it is a book that I appreciated. Its caught up in the tidal wave of women who want equity and respect. Here is the manifesto from Eddie Calloway:
What Wild Women Do
MAKE OURSELVES BIGGER and louder than may be initially comfortable.
TAKE UP SPACE rather than becoming smaller to fit something narrow and unyielding.
SHOW EMOTION, be it anger, sadness, hurt, joy-we are human, and therefore have earned our feelings.
ARE FEMININE when it suits us, because we want to be, but never because someone else asks it of us.
RESPECT OURSELVES, because not everyone else will.
SEEK PEACE without shrinking from chaos, which can be a catalyst for change.
ENJOY LIFE on our terms, as we only get one to live.
TRUST OTHER WOMEN and be trustworthy to our sisters in return.
BE BOLD in every space of life, from the bedroom to the boardroom, and take a seat at the table.
this is what wild women do .
Enjoy!
