truly amazing! mead gave a new adventure that is very different with the VA series and yet it has the same feeling. I sure hope there will be more from their world. like a spinoff about declan.

I enjoyed this book and I really liked this series. The characters were fun, the writing was enjoyable, and the plot was good, not to predictable. I think the romances were good and the friendships were solid.

Eigentlich schreit ja manches hier nach einer Fortsetzung.

Mir hat der Verlauf und der Ausgang der gute gefallen.

LOVE both this series and the Vampire Academy series! I started this book in April, but had other books I really wanted to read more. Put it down, and just yesterday picked it up and flew through it! It was so good! I'm a little sad that it's over though...

I am overwhelmed after having read this book in the matter of one sitting, and I'm filled with joy and heartache over the ending of this series. The Vampire Academy world was what originally got me into reading, and I'm a saddened that that has now come to an end for me.
The ending of this book was perfect in so many ways, and I am so thankful to Richelle for following on the story of Rose and Dimitri. After all, they were and possibly still are my favourite YA couple, though I'm not so sure after Sydney and Adrian. This series was breathtaking, and I found myself constantly sitting on the edge of my swat, dying to find out what was going to happen. Just like with Vampire Academy, I found the last 3 books in the series to be far better than the first three.
I just wish I was able to find out whether Sydney and Adrian would decide to have kids of their own. As well as Rose and Dimitri. I guess I just have to live with the not knowing, and cherishing how beautiful both relationships are.
I will dearly miss the Vampire Academy world, and I'm sure I will revisit it again one day.

the CHOKEHOLD these books had me in in ninth grade - i stopped reading this one in the summer of 2017 because i loved the series too much to accept it was over, so i saved the rest of it for the future. well, the future turned out to be a foggy sunday in november that now lies in the past. I'm kind of glad i got to revisit this; so many memories of staying up all night to finish books i loved came back up.
reflecting on the actual story though, the plot feels like a first draft where the easiest solution to a problem was always the one that ended up being chosen; the characters seemed flatter than before; the ending felt rushed and the dialogue went full-on soap opera at times (thankfully not consistently), but at least there were no loose ends and the story tied up neatly.
So, although i acknowledge that this book is not as good as its predecessors in terms of characters, writing and storyline, there is more love for these books left in me than i anticipated, which is why i once again stayed up way past my bedtime to finish this and i don't really regret it.

Adrian's battle with spirit was annoying.

Them having to take on Declan without having enjoy their married life was also annoying and I thought Neil was selfish. The epilogue did somehow placate those feelings in a way. *edit I HATE THE BABY. specially the implication they Sydney was about to mother him. NO! LET HER BE FREE!!!

Sydney's deal with Stanton/the Alchemist was just too good to be true. The plot twist with Jared was insane tho. That asshole.

I thought this book could've been longer, it could've been two books even. I was two hundred pages in and thought "this can't possibly wrap everything up" but it did, albeit hastily."

*edit: I almost fucking forgot. Sydney and Adrian haven't had a chance to talk about everything that happened to her in re-education. She hadn't had time to truly recover from that. I wanted to see them talk about what happened with them when they were away from each other *sigh*
